——————Ramsdale
————Bash Egan Stevens
Baldock Bogle Ampadu Fleck Osborn
———————Didzy
———————Burke

It’s getting quite difficult to put a team together. We have to stick with the 3 CB’s. We have the best RCB in the business in Bash. We will loose Bash’s effectiveness if we go to a flat 4 or move him into midfield as he’s just not the same player in these roles.
There are so many players woefully out of form. Rather than name the individuals I’ll focus on the players offering something positive.
Ramsdale has looked really good the last 2 games. Baldock, Bash, Egan pick themselves. Osborn gives his all every game and for me is our best option at LWB with his energy and forward thinking. Ampadu although probably not quite ready is a much better option than anyone else in DM role. Bogle looked like a breath of fresh air against Brighton, I’d like to see him in a similar role when we play Palace. Didzy is our only attacking player with any sort of composure and ability to link up play. Burke is our only forward capable of making something out of nothing.
The players not mentioned need to step up to the mark. Easier said than done it seems!

I'd like to see Bogle play at RWB, give Baldock a rest and see if Bogle can offer more going forward. I appreciate that this is a gamble defensivel, but it's not like we're great defensively at the minute either, although not bad. Hope Ampadu is dropped, but only if we can bring in a centre mid in time - not likely. I just don't think Norwood has a good performance in him right now, looks shot of confidence - not the only one of course. Maybe move Bash right side midfield and Ampadu to Bash's position could be an option.
This is interesting. I’m actually concerned that Baldock could get sent off coming up against Zaha this time round. He plays with his heart on his sleeve and has had a couple of spats with him before.

If 1-0 to Palace isn't backed into odds of at least 1/50 then the betting community are shit.

That highlights Wilder’s problems, for me. I don’t think for one minute either Robinson or Ampadu could play in a PL back four. I agree we need to add to the midfield but do we have a striker who could play as a lone striker? I’m not convinced we do. So how do we add to the midfield when we have to play three at the back and two up front?
I agree - the inability to bring in a decent replacement for JOC in the transfer window has cost us dearly. Our commitment/reliance on a back 5 has made it almost impossible to have a plan B. We've been left incredibly light in midfield and the attack has been left isolated all season.
However even when playing a back a five, we're losing - so why not try something different...at this point we've got nothing to lose. It would be nice to play a diamond in midfield with McG in the Attacking Midfield position behind Burke and Brewster, but unfortunately I think any back four we tried would need more protection than one Defensive Midfielder.

Bogle to start, score 2 so he can really cement his place on the bench for the next few games

I don't know if he's even alive at this stage but fuck it, I'm playing Rodwell. It'll be the rebirth of him and he'll have Zaha in his pocket. Anything that allows Basham to go into midfield. ANYTHING.

----------------Ramsdale----------------

------Rodwell----Egan----Stevens------

Baldock -------------------------Osborn

-----------Basham--Fleck---------------

---------------McGoldrick--------------

---------Mousset-------Brewster-------

Ok, maybe not - but is there anyone else who can play there? PLEASE! (not Jagielka)

The reason why Wilder isn’t trying something different is because he knows it won’t work. If we played your line up, or any of the suggested alternatives, chances are we’d get hammered. Any confidence the players still have in Wilder would be destroyed.
I’d say all we can do is bring Bryan in for Robinson as he’s better in the air, try Bogle instead of Baldock in the hope he can deliver a better ball, keep with Didsy in a floating role and try to play through the thirds quickly and get balls into the box earlier instead of fucking around in the corners. And hope some team soon will think they just have to turn up to beat us.
That and try to bring a couple in early in Jan.

What’s everyone reckon?

The Ampadu-Osborn dreadnaught once more?
Another masterclass in how to play LCB by Jack Robinson?
Giving 5 at the back another run out since it’s clearly working really well?
Few square passes in our own half followed by a hopeless punt upfield to gift them possession again?

The possibilities are endless.
What makes you think that will be the score? 🤔😉

Your constantly sarcastic tone makes you come across as a bit of a dick. Apologies if you're not a dick, I'm only going on a decent bundle of your recent posts which seem a bit attention-seeking.
As I say, I'm definitely not saying you're an attention-seeking dick.

I’m definitely a dick. Not attention seeking, but definitely a dick.

Are we still doing this, pick a team to get 3 points thing.......Seriously?
Ok...here’s my bunch of hapless heroes...
Ramsdale

Baldock. Bash. Egan. Enda.

Bogle. Didzy. Ampadu Burke

Brewster. Mousett

How about that for radicle thinking?

I've given up trying to figure out a half decent team/line up now. Its really getting me down. I went to my first match at Bramall Lane in 1943. ( Yes 1943.I said.) and have never felt so low as this over a team. I posted a thread in September saying we were not good enough. got a few nasty comments from people whose brains were coming out of their nostrils, but a lot of posts now are talking about next season and rebuilding etc.
So , have we accepted relegation.? Not a mathematical certainty yet I know but we have to do something this season.. Watched MOTD agin today and rerun of UTD match ( didn't get any better ). Saw that pic. where we have lost 7 or 8 games 1-0. That's a fine margin.
Come on rethink our strategy lets get our self respect back if nothing else.

As long as Mousset is nowhere near the first team. Spends his whole time on the pitch just jogging around trying to look cool. Never attacks space, never shows intensity. I'd personally drive him back to Bournemouth. They must be laughing their little socks off
Just put him in that pink car he drives and he'll be there in 30 minutes

I’d just play Baldock and Bogle, sticking Baldock at right midfield can’t exactly weaken us assuming Bogle is any good.

If not why not?

Genuine question: Do you think that line up every game this season would have got more or less than two points? My money is on more. Not many more, but still more than the existing squad.

Amazing to think that the line up from my Cub Scouts U9s team in 1988 would only have picked up two fewer points than Brewster, Berge et al.

It's irrelevant who plays the end result will be either 1-0 palace or they will batter us.

OK I”ve gone for a mixture of experience and madness;

in Goal

United a number one and Ireland’s number one it’s
ALAN KELLY (king of the clean sheets)

Number Two
He’s been shit all season but so has everyone else, its the best right back there ever was
CHRISSY WILDER

Number Three and Ireland’s number 3
none other than the infallible
EDNA STEPHENS

Number Four let’s have a few ooo’s and ahhs cos its
BOB BOOKAH

Number 5 it’s not Johnny Five but he’s still alive it’s our hero and champion song writer its
JOHHNY EGAN

NUMBER 6 he’s heading a brick he’s still not fit but better than anyone else its
JACK O”CONNELL 🤣🧱 (JOC not Jock)

NUMBER 7 it’s our finest winger there ever was, and he’s still better than anyone else we have, even at his age it’s
COLIN - COLIN MORRIS (on the wing)

NUMBER 8
He’s Uni turds best midfielder and Scotland’s number 8. He’s had his irn bru and he’s feeling better so make some noise its
JOHN FLECK

NUMBER 9
He’s been itching to prove he’s still better than Brewster. If it’s goals you are looking for, none other than the one and only
KEITH EDWARDS 1-0

NUMBER 10
He will scare the opposition to death just with his hair cut. Playing the classic number 10 role it’s
BORIS JOHNSON

NUMBER 11
When you go to London and want to rob the three points you need someone like Robin Hood. We couldn’t afford him (as per usual) so it’s his mate, the one and only ADRIAN LITTLEJOHN
