Lets Pull Together; Tough Times Ahead

The money West Ham owe is is a football debt. If they don't pay we sue and get a court judgment against them. If they still don't pay we send them into adminsitration, If that happened, WHU would not be allowed to compete in any sort of league governed by the FA unless they paid us in full.

In other words, the only way WHU can avoid paying is if the club disappears completely.

Which is what im saying..............

There is every possibility of it happening. They are in the deepest shit possible. Unless someone saves them, we wont see any of it.

But yes, all of your points are quite correct.

I hardly think the Porn Barons would put money into WHU and spend money on players if it were likely to disappear any time soon. Meanwhile, they will continue to pay United their money given the consequences of not doing so.

I think our club officials are probably concerned that we wont see a penny of the what is owed from the Tevez money because of West Ham's desperate financial situation. Just because Sullivan and Gold have come in and bought it doesnt mean theyre flush again. Theyve just inherited the same problems and are bank rolling desperate spending on players. Why not, instead of letting them spend millions on new players, dont the football authorities deduct their revenue to pay the debt owed to the Blades? Theyre doing this to Portsmouth so why arent West Ham any different?!

If WHU go into administration then they have to settle their debts before spending in any other areas (look at events in the Conf with Chester City, Salisbury, Northwich Victoria and Farsley). Until they enter admin they are free to spend their own money as they see fit - but once in admin creditors must be paid to a pre agreed limit (the Blue Square conference stipulate all football related debts must be 100% paid by May of the following year) or the administrators will sell off players, ground etc to raise the owed monies.

The only risk to our monies that I can see would be WHU going into admin - and SUFC agreeing to a settlement of less than 100p in the pound of debt.

I'm no finance expert - but this seems to be the case in other leagues. But past events have shown that the PL work in different ways to everyone else in the world - especially when it comes to the "blue eyed boys" at Upton Park

I still can't think of anywhere I'd rather be on a Saturday afternoon. Songs still give me shivers, beer with my Pop still tastes as good. I still sing (quietly, I am on JS) and I'll still cheers goals. I'll still probably come away deflated but hey ho. I'll do it again.

Yep, that's the spirit. I'm as deflated as the next man at the minute but for God's sake, I hope this forum doesn't represent the "average" United fan. Have some balls, fellow Blades. Times are getting tougher, it's time for fans to get behind the team, not plan trips to Meadowhall.

The chairman, manager and players will come and go, but this is OUR club. Fuck 'em. I'll always enjoy going.

Talk about ironic but if you watched Palace beat Wolves in the cup replay earlier in the week you would see a club that has pulled together in adversity, Warnock looked like he was in heaven, everything against them and him rallying the troops, just as he likes it, I almost had to pinch myself, this was after all crappy Palace, but you could almost touch the emotion driving them on, I just don't see that Blackwell has the character to do a similar job. I wonder what the odds are for Palace to get into the playoffs?? hmmmm.

Today I won't be going to the Lane
After the debacle of Tuesday, to be let down by a side devoid of ideas, passion and guts
To be let down by a manager that has completely lost the plot and hasn't a clue how to remedy it!
To be let down by a club who have lied and hoodwinked their loyal supporters
Today I have taken time out to reflect
I will not go to BDTBL and boo the side
I will not go to BDTBL to boo the manager
I will not go to BDTBL to boo the board
I will not go- Probably no one will notice
I am fed up with being lied to, talked down to and patronised by the club I love
If every disillusioned fan did not go today McCabe would notice, Birch would notice, Blackwell would notice and the team would notice
But perhaps they don't care!
