Not a favoured player of mine but he was simply class today and also my motmAbsolute beast today, my man of the match.
Doesn't the fact that they created those chances in the first place worry you a little? For me standouts have to be Clarke, Sharp, Bash, Carruthers and Blackman. Everyone did well though, just think we needed abit more from Coutts and Fleck in terms of creativity.
However, I would like to address an issue regarding certain apprehensions about our strike force. For me our strike force proved the difference today. Yeah JOC and Blackman made a couple of last min blocks but Brentford were toothless imo. If we had them chances I would back Sharp or Clarke to bury em.
Not really. The game was similar to last seasons home game against Peterborough. They both play similar and have similar types of players. These types of teams will always create chances and last season I mentioned that against these teams (refering to Peterborough at the time) you need your keeper to also perform. We defended our box and the edge of our box well. Flecks and Coutts got stuck in and Clarke Sharp had do a lot of running but thats the game plan against these teams. However, I believe at one point we really had em up, from the moment Stevens hit the post we hammered em and also had two goals disallowed during the opening of the second half. I thought we hammered em during that time as we'd found our level of confidence of last season. I reckon the players were slightly nervous at times but as our confidence grows in this league I reckon we'll do damage. In all honesty I have no major worries after watching that game, just hope KM and the Prince back Wilder and get us the players we need.Doesn't the fact that they created those chances in the first place worry you a little?
That assist (reyt touch btw) gave him a massive boost.
That's going to happen in most games this season. We aren't playing Oldham and Bury anymore these teams are of a much better quality and will create chances.Doesn't the fact that they created those chances in the first place worry you a little?
Oh the scenes if he scores against wednesday.
I'm glad hes doing well for us, looks like hes kept it up over pre-season into the new season

My thoughts exactly!. Leon was immense on Saturday!. UtbTwo each for Clarke & Lavery would go down well......and some from Billy too.
Thought Saturday was his best game for us, worked his socks off, particularly loved that sliding tackle/challenge in front of the South Stand to win a ball he'd really no right to get.
Thinking back to Saturday,I honestly don't think any of our lads looked out of their depth against a very capable Brentford side.
