Just read that they are leaving out the top 7 sides of the prem next season.

Does it really make any difference? The top clubs (think it's done by European qualification, which for all intents and purposes has been the top 7 for a while) got a bye to round 3 anyway and play the reserves. I'd be fine with the Football League telling the PL to do one and just have the competition between the 72, but this seems a bit daft

Guessing when the new Europa League 2/Conference League comes in affect that the winner of the league cup will go straight into that instead of the original. (If its not scrapped).

If it is, they should just merge the league cup and jpt together.

All this will do is devalue the League Cup further, which let's face it, no one takes seriously unless they manage to get into the Quarters.

The big teams might not be too bothered, but if you take Liverpool, Man City etc out, the smaller teams won't be either.
