So this season's promotions haven't been settled yet, but one bookie has odds for promotion next season already.

Believe it or not, some certain neighbours are favourites (5's) with us being joint second with Preston (7's). This is without the four league 1 play-off finalists and whoever wins the league 2 play-offs.

If I were to have a bet, £10 on Scunthorpe I think. They have bounced straight back twice in the last 5 years.

Sheff Wed 5
Preston 7
Sheffield United 7
Scunthorpe 10
Charlton 12
Colchester 20
Brentford 25
Carlisle 25
Chesterfield 25
Bury 33
Exeter 33
Notts Co 33
Rochdale 33
Leyton Orient 40
Oldham 40
Tranmere 40
Wycombe 40
Hartlepool 50
Walsall 50
Yeovil 50

Add to that three of: Huddersfield, Peterborough, MK Dons, Bournemouth.
and one of: Shrewsbury, Accrington Stanley, Stevenage, Torquay.

If Huddersfield were to get promotion, that's looking like a really poor division next year. Unfortunately I don't think we'll be in a position to take advantage.

Huddersfield seem to have more financial backing of the play-off teams and in my view would make more of a go of it in the Championship. Posh and MK Dons will always be there or there abouts whereas I think Bournemouth had momentum but it's grinding to a halt now. If they don't go up this season they won't challenge next.

As for it looking a poor division, I'd disagree. Small clubs in there yes, but it's League 1! Thinking because are small they are shit is getting into the same mindset as the Pigs had this season. As they have shown plenty of times this season, small teams can issue good hidings!

For those of you that dont understand betting odds:

If you put £10 on Sheffield Wednesday to win league one next season, at odds of 5/1, the you will lose £10.

I have a bet every season on one side to win each league. I have never won one yet. 7s is too short of a price for United with the mess we are in at the moment. Not sure why our snorting neighbours are the favorites to win the league. Probably won't be once the three sides who don't go up are included.

I will be waiting to see what happens at BDTBL before I place any bets on us this season.
