Outrageous by Adam Le Fondre in the first half. He goes down injured with a supposed 'head injury' so the ref stops play whilst we have possession. He makes a miraculous recovery and then uses the drop ball to try and score direct past Moore. He must have been having lessons in cheating from Madine!

Would have been interesting what would have happened if it had gone in. Couldnt see Bolton being generous and letting us score. Not the Parkinson way. Especially as he saw a different game from us!!

What an utter twat, if that had gone in there would have been a riot.

Looks a right twat for doing it, can see why though how shit were they!

Thankfully the wind took that weird 'drop shot ' away from goal. Even the wind was a Blade today.

I once saw Jack Lester score a goal like that. He was supposed to pass the ball gently to the Droylsden (!) goalkeeper but chipped it over his head into the net instead, causing a huge fight to break out and the Chesterfield team to sit down and let Droylsden score from the restart.

Mike Dean was annoyed with Le Fondre but there was nothing he could have done if the ball had gone into the net. It would be up to Bolton's manager to decide whether to do the decent thing. Last season Guiseley scored a goal like that against Braintree and then refused to let Braintree score to even things up. They avoided relegation by a point so I suppose they thought it was worth it in the end.

Having said that, Braintree and Droylsden are one thing; Sheffield United another. There would have been carnage if Bolton had taken the lead in such a cheaty way and not let us score from the kick off. There'd have been a lot worse than egg yolk chucked at the team bus if that had happened.

It'd have been a goal kick, you cant score direct from a drop ball, it has to touch at least 2 players (law 8)

Didn't Doncaster score one last season? I think Leon Clarke then scored a make up goal from the Kick-off.

In that case, it's a pity it didn't go in! We could all have had a giggle and Le Fondre would have looked a reight arse.

Is that something you'd see any of our players do?

Nah, I don't think so either.

Little wanker.

Sensibily changed in 2012 apparently. Ludicrous that refs had to signal goals previously when players flouted the spirit of the game.

I think they would have let us run through and score, Bolton as a club would really have had to.

I don't think Le Fronde was actually trying to score he was a being a smart arse by trying to chip it out for a goal kick instead of giving it straight to Moore, I think it blew in a bit closer than he thought.

Le Fondre is a cheat for what he did yesterday, but it would not have been necessary if that idiot Freeman had not kicked the ball out of play, and had carried on with United's attacking play. The Bolton player was back up and running around within 30 seconds.

The Ball wasn't kicked out by Freeman. If it had been the game would have restarted with a throw not a drop ball!.

Yep... The ref blew up for the "head injury".

Someone wasn't paying attention and it wasn't "idiot Freeman" ;)

Really, who was it then? I'll hold my hands up if I'm wrong, but I have a clear recollection of Freeman kicking the ball out.
