I can't think of one in my time. Is he the first, if so arise Sir Christopher!!

1 March 1913

No, really...

EDIT: in the league, if you count the cup it's 13 January 1954
Stupid Blackwell letting them do the double over us, that was another long standing blemish on their record

So it is, miscounted...

Not a great time for us in Sheffield derbies. That was the last of 3 consecutive league wins at The Lane for them, during a period where we went 10 league games without winning against them.

For a good while they had the head to head with us being in the lead by a decent margin. Then one year it switched to being like 1 win in it. I'm assuming this was due to discounting non conepetitive games or something like that? How many non competitive games have we really played?

So there isn't a person alive who's seen them win 5 league games at the lane 🤔
The last 5 wins at the Lane were November 2024, September 2009, December 2005, January 2003, November 1991 so there were plenty who went to these 5 matches. Adding October 1970 I have seen us win at the Lane 6 times. We won 3 times at the Lane in the 1960s and many still alive were there

I'm on about the pigs winning 5 at the Lane.

The website often used for head to head comparisons is the 11 v 11 website.
However that site includes the Wharncliffe Charity cup fixture, several 1 world war midland section unofficial matches and Data Zenith cup match.

The record is
In the top flight United 29 wins Weds 28 wins 32 draws (remarkably even)
In the 2nd tier United 15 wins Weds 6 wins 7 draws (we’re very dominant in this fixture at Championship level)
In the 3rd tier United 0 wins Weds 2 wins and 2 draws (not many matches played but we’ve never won at 3rd tier level).

FA cup United 4 wins Weds 3 wins and 2 draws
League cup United 0 wins, Weds 2 wins and 1 draw.

Overall in major completions
League United United 44 wins Wednesday 36 wins and 41 draws
Cup United 4 wins Wednesday 5 wins and 3 draws.

Overall United 48 wins Wednesday 41 wins and 44 draws.
So we’re currently 7 (seven) wins in front.

Also we’ve always been slightly in front regards the head to head since the very first league match.
The 1st world war midland league matches show United won 3, Wednesday won 5 with 4 draws.
Also Wednesday won the Wharncliffie Charity cup in 1891 and they also won the Data Zenith cup matches.
That site doesn’t show the County Cup matches.
