Do we have a choice? If he’s on a youth contract cat 1 are free to poach him and pay a tribunal fee?Shame I hope we keep him he’s a talented player with a great story and was playing his football a literal stones throw from the lane. If we lose him it’ll be a shocking statement on the state of modern football
No we haven’t got a choice all we can do is offer him a deal and try and convince him we’re the best place for his development.Do we have a choice? If he’s on a youth contract cat 1 are free to poach him and pay a tribunal fee?
Don’t know much about him other than a lot of people that follow the development team rave about him.
Brilliant response YogiNo we haven’t got a choice all we can do is offer him a deal and try and convince him we’re the best place for his development.
It wasn’t a criticism of United if anything the club deserves praise they’ve given and opportunity to and helped develop a lad who’s had some real hardship in his life and given a lad who’s settled in Sheffield the chance and means to change his life and the life of his family. I have nothing but pride for the role the club and the grassroots football set ups in Sheffield and people who give their time to them have played in this lads story. It’s something we as fans of the club and people of Sheffield should be exceptional proud of every time one of these lads goes and makes a good career for themselves.
It’s more a criticism of the way the football system is currently set up that allows children to be traded as commodities. It’s one thing academy players moving when their pathway is blocked and they try to make a career it’s another now clubs hoarding youth talent by swinging in last minute before they can sign pro deals.
I have mixed feelings about us chasing the lads from Swindon for that reason but he is older and at 18 they have had the chance to offer him pro terms for the last couple of years but haven’t done so in time and that’s their oversight.
Think he started as a forward last season but moved back to midfield for the majority of it. Chipped in with quite a few goals too. What is his best position? The tweet says forward, but he played in midfield when I watched him?
I am suprised Lamine Sidibe wasnt a offered a pro contract, some player in the making big powerfull unit scores goals for fun, give him a contract blades the wolves are circling I believe utb
Yes and no. Yes in that we’d be able to make a better pitch to the player to stay as we’d have facilities and coaching that merited top end classification and so we could make a better pitch that development here would be as good as elsewhere. However that would likely still ring hollow when compared to the small towns that the big academies have now become. If we become a Cat 1 Academy does it affect our ability to hang onto our best prospects?
Blackburn lost a 13 year old to Chelsea recently for £750k the other day. RidiculousI wonder if Livingston are having similar threads on their site about the young winger and Ryan Oné.
There should be a rule change to stop this but as usual every time there is a desire to get more money to the EFL, concessions around thing like this get made.
It should be 18 minimum and only after the current club has offered a deal. None of this swooping in nonsense.
It looks like Wednesday as well as losing Cadamarteri will be losing a lad who is even younger which I also don’t agree with.
I doubt it pal. They came from Hamilton Academical.I wonder if Livingston are having similar threads on their site about the young winger and Ryan Oné.
You’re right! But same sentiment.I doubt it pal. They came from Hamilton Academical.
