No, this isn't another weird double barrelled surname.

The big left back, a centre half by trade, did anyone else think he looked pretty handy?
Was big, strong, athletic and decent in possession. Dealt with the overloads really well despite a complete lack of support and Mark Yeates infront of him.

Still only 21. He fits our model of being an Ex-Academy player at both Chelsea and West Brom.

He looked better than Kean Bryan, which admittedly isn't hard. Younger, better prospect?

We’re in the prem not league one

Which means it costs even less as a percentage of revenue to take shots at low initial outlay, low cost prospects that we can put in the U23s, loan out as needed and see how they develop. It doesn't need to work very often to be profitable even if they get nowhere near the first team.

Whether this guy is any good, I have no idea

would be interesting to see a view from fylde on him, often it's the fans' who notice progress and potential

Me neither, he might be shit but I was comparing him to Kean Bryan for 90 minutes...

...Does that mean you can't sign players from non-League?

Someone should've told Arsenal when they signed Cohen Bramhall from Hednesford a couple of years ago.
Judging by the number of starts he's had at Arsenal since then (he's at 4th tier Colchester now), maybe someone should have told them?

Told them what? He cost them about the price of a Pukka Pie, it's worth the risk

That game was a pretty good shop window for the Fylde players (less so good for ours though)
Reckon a few of them will make decent moves from it

Might be worth keeping an eye on. Some teams scout players for a couple of years before signing them. Have him watched again and if he still looks decent stick him on the database and see how he progresses.

I couldn't tell any of them apart. It was like playing Fifa against a team with no real faces

Thought he looked gangly and uncoordinated most of the game

Much like our Bash then

true that. I just thought he looked like a bit of a bomb scare, especially early on but he did grow in to the game a bit.

I thought their right winger with orange boots who was subbed late in the second half looked decent on the ball though. Had a couple of decent runs at us

I was impressed mostly with how he dealt with our overloads when was basically on his own. He's played for Chelsea and West Brom as a kid so clearly has something about him.
Didn't see much of him coming forward which is obviously imperative for our R/LCB's.

I don't expect him to be at Fylde for too long.

And there 4th bottom of the National League!

We play a style that’s unique, with positions that ask different things of players than you’d expect at other clubs. For that reason, I’m very relaxed at us looking at all avenues to find players that might be better suited to these unique requirements than they might be wherever they are currently playing.

Not an exact comparison, but take someone like Martin Cranie. Binned by the Prem, no clear takers in the Championship, we brought him in and he quickly became the 2nd best player we’ve seen in the RCB role. He’s since gone to a team likely to be in League 1 next year, and remains a player unlikely to have too many suitors when he next looks for a move.

As he was apparently playing against garbage who aren’t good enough it’s a no from me. 😃

Bad example, where is Cohen Bramhall now?

A better example would be Chris Smalling or Vardy, I'm all for giving non league scouting, there are gems to be found, Che Adams was great for us.

How is it a bad example? Arsenal literally signed him from job league
