Defence duo train with Brewers

Defenders Rob Kozluk and Robbie Neilson are training with Burton as they seek to play after being released by their clubs.

Both players are looking for new clubs after being released by Sheffield United and Leicester respectively.

However, Albion boss Paul Peschisolido believes his former Blades team-mate Kozluk, 34, and Scotland international Neilson, 31, have set their sights on settling at clubs higher up the football ladder.

"They're both excellent players with a pedigree and would be great assets at our level, but I do think they are both hopeful of something better than League Two football," Peschisolido told the Burton Mail. "Who knows, they might like what they see the more time they spend with us but at the moment it's nothing more than a case of them finding a club to train with to help them stay fit.

"In the case of Robbie, I think he's got one or two things going that might lead to something, possibly with a club abroad.

"Like Rob, he wants to play at the highest level he can, so from our point of view we just have to wait to see whether anything materialises for them."

That story can't be right, Wilson is going to sign him as soon as he offloads a couple of players from the wage bill:-

Sheffield Star (30/07/11) “I’d like Rob to come on board,” Wilson confirmed. “He can play down the left or right, is a great character and good to have around the dressing room. On top of that he’s very committed to Sheffield United which is a bonus. As far as I’m aware it’s at the stage where Rob is talking to the people here,” added Wilson. “But he knows my thoughts.”

Nice to know he is at Burton, probably best to give the A38 a miss, unless you want a cross on the Bonnet .....

See the transfer window works for us. We cant offload enough players to afford Kozluk. Hooray!
