Best rendition of it I can remember was a few seasons ago away at Forest - when Morgs scored an overhead kick from edge of box ( over to you Dazzler ) - it went on for most of 2nd half and was like a black gospel type rendition very very slow but upbeating at intervals before going back to slow version

It was absolute class and should become a regular.

Go on then...

25/1/04 FA Cup 4th Round - won 3-0 (Lester(pen), Morgan, Allison). Morgan's first goal and Forte made his debut as sub.

Cheers Darren - I'd forgotten it was Forte's debut although as I recall it was as a 2nd half sub but he did run rings around deadly Des Walker (one of the best headed goals I've ever seen at the Lane)

Best i've heard Oh when The BLADES sung was at Sid James Park premier season......................

mind yer i was pissed ........:p

I think Spurs started the whole 'slow version' didn't they? If you google for it on youtube there's an excellent rendition from them.

I thought last night until the song in question started up, the atmosphere was very poor. Usually there's a good atmosphere against Forest (to which the Forest fans contribute) and an evening kick-off usually helps things along nicely too. Last night the forest fans were fairly quiet, and the United fans quieter still - up until those last 20 minutes.

Considering that Forest are in a fine run of form, and United had won a couple, it surprised me. I accept the match was a bit dull, but it was quiet from the start.

It was still great singing late on though.
