Considering how shit they say were are, why would they want half our team? maguire, quinn and now McDonald.

This story is gathering pace with another poster on BM saying he's in talks with them today

MacD is entitled to sign for whoever he wants if he turns us down, but ffs signing for that lot?

The rumours will be plenty about them wanting our better players.

Would Quinn go there ? Highley doubt that and I don't think we would let him go there. Same with Maguire. Unless,of course we are talking multimillions in transfers for both of them

As for KMAc? Rumour probably started by a pig to wind Blades up. He is injury prone and doesn't seem to have the pace which Jones normally looks for in a midfield player. Also he has enquired about an Under 21 international from Portugal to play centre midfield.

He is on a free so KMac can do what he wants. Is he good enough to to play 40+ games at championship level ? The jury is out for me

According to Rob Staton on Twitter they're signing someone today, he said there'd be more on it later. That would put a right dampener on the bank holiday weekend if it was him!

Given the way the team have let us down again, for any of them to sign for the pigs would be disgraceful. And they would get twatted.

Seems the ex-blade they signed was Mattock not McDonald.

Easy mistake to make I guess.

Rumour I heard today was that KMac failed a medical at the piggery..........good news and bad news at the same time!

If there's any truth in this then I think we should remove our offer. He's clearly got some medical issues, and doesn't unerstand the rivalry angle. Given that his indecision is costing us time to rebuild, we should be proactive.

I know a nurse at the private hospital that Wednesday use for the medicals(all their new signings have been there so far). KMac has not been there for a medical.

Obviously because of the potential sensitivity,he might have had one elsewhere

Paul Walker on Twitter.

That's probably diplomatic speak for "I am not involved in this - please refer to my agent for any truth on the matter - if the only option I am left with is third division bobbar for another year then I will have to swallow the pill"

His fitness is a reason he will struggle to move from club to club. For a young guy he has had a fair few injuries but ideal for us we like to hang on to injured players.

If he stays knowing our luck he will be forced to retire early or his leg will drop off.

any positive stuff ,turn it into a negative. Its the Sheffield United law :(

That's right sitwell. There is an audioboo from Paul Walker available via twitter where he is interviewing KMac. In the interview KMac states that they are waiting to hear what budget is available and that his agent is in contact with the club a couple of times a week and that they are waiting to hear on what the club comes back with. Clearly this is the negotiation part since the club has already made a contract offer and they are holding out for more (as you would expect). He would be happy to stay if the conditions are right (as you would expect) but he will clearly be looking elsewhere if his expectations, and those of his agent, are not met.

I suspect that the club has offered what it believes it can afford - KMac and his agent hope that this will be improved upon, the club cannot make any further offers without getting rid of more people so the waiting game is on. If the club remains in this position of limbo then the odds are that KMac will get anxious and want to sort out his contract for next season and be more willing to listen to offers from elsewhere.

KMac denied speaking to Wendy personally but there was no explicit denial as to whether his agent had done so (which is clearly his prerogative).

My reading of the situation at this stage - KMac believes he is worth much more than Utd have offered and is hoping that the offer will be improved upon - but I think the club will be sticking to it's guns - and ultimately he will be signing for someone else, of that I am fairly positive (that's the best I can do on the coat hanger in the mouth stakes)
