Fantastic news. A quality player. Our promotion chances, subject to fitness, have just risen significantly.

In many ways, Kits is the new Shipps!

I'll get excited when I see him fit and he's got a few more games under his belt.

If he gets and stays fit I think he'll do well.

Do we reckon his new deal is on a competetive wage? When he first signed it seemed money wasn't that important to him. Is he now among the top earners?

FFS ,he earns too much ,hes always crocked ,we need wingers ,why not be happy for once that we have some good news and a decent player ? The pigs would be claiming sainthood for him if hed signed for them .

I don't give a fuck what the pigs think. Blackman, Porter, Cresswell, Kitson, Cofie, Miller and even Ironside and Phillikirk if needed.

We couldn't keep Gallagher incase we needed another keeper. Like I said I am sorry because I do like Kitson but if we can't get players in positions we needed then unfortunately I think it's a waste

All the posts above contain praise/positivity/acknowledgement of Kitson's qualities. Sitwell, I think you should try to separate between honest reservations and things that are posted to wind you up or is just downright negativity.

We all hope that Kitson will be fit, continue to do well and that there's something left for a wideman signing in January.

Quite simply ,he has been our best player in my opinion and is vital to our progress ,typical Blades attitude is to look for a negative in absolutely anything out of the club.

Debate One: Kitson has been our best player.

Debate Two: Blades fans look for negatives.

Debate Three: Will there be any money for a wide man in January.

If we avoid mixing the above there will be less threads turning nasty and we may find out we don't disagree that much after all. The above posts contained agreement with your view, but you seemed to dismiss them completely because there were traces of concerns/reservations as well.

Is that you being negative about the Blades there, Sitters? Saying that all Blades fans do is moan and that we never look for positives. Even though many of us clearly do.

Quite simply, there isn't enough money apparently to sign another keeper or more importantly a winger yet there is to sign another striker. I really like Kitson but I would swap him for Gallagher in a heartbeat. (note not because I think Gallagher is a better player, but because of where he plays)

8 strikers yet we only have 1 winger

Good news, teams will be aware of Kitson and he will draw players to him creating gaps.
DW will know that he needs help on the wing and with Kitson committing now DW can work on other areas before the window opens.

Personally, I'd prefer to keep Kitson, send back Cofie and get rid of at least one of the other strikers we have. Then start looking for someone down the left.

WE sign a good player until the end of the season. How is this not good news? Only in the crazy world of the apparent majority!

I think the most apt point is that since he's been out, we've hardly looked like scoring; when he was fit, we did.

We may have 78 strikers, but only a couple of them are capable of putting the ball in the back of the net.

And, I would assume that even with FFP we can afford a winger with Kitson signed. Problem is, it seems to me that Danny simply isn't a fan of such players.

Well this miserable sod is happy with his signing. He's a game changer at this level and he should weigh in with a few goals which can't be bad. It's OK moaning about all the strikers on our books but how many have the experience and craft that Kitson has? Not many, so in these dark days of 3rd division pub football make the most of any chink of light that comes our way and seiously, this is one of them.

A week or 10 days to get back into training - could be back fit in two weeks time. That's from Kitson just now on Radio Sheffield.

He says all the right things doesn't he? Can talk well, unlike the majority of football players.

cant believe what im reading. ive been banging on about us having far too many strikers, and seriously lacking in midfield, all season...but...kitson! if he does stay til the end of the season its great news. yes we have too many strikers, but most of em are useless if were honest.

i dont see any reason why we cant reshuffle a few things in january, to get in an extra bit of quality on the wing etc. we should still have the goalie money for a start...doesnt really add up that does it...the old guy signing must on buttons...and probably get rid of a few of our wonderfully promising youngsters who are really probably pretty rubbish or theyd be getting games. letting porter go could be an option too, though we may as well keep him if we can shuffle a few other things around instead. hes certainly a much better option than cofie or cresswell.
