do we know when he is due back between the sticks?

i know he got a 9 month ban but would he be banned form the court date or from when he was found out?

heard bunn was out for a month due to injury

cant wait for kennys return. he might be able to do something with the defence

Not sure when we'll see him back in action though. Didn't someone on here mention he'd slapped some timber on during his suspension (Paddy - Never!) so could be a while till he's match fit.

Also not sure if he's the man to sort out our defence - his communication has always been a bit suspect for me. Morgs is the guy to get the back four whipped into line.

Our new Estonian stopper would be interesting to have a look at though - although I think he's not yet match fit as given he won't have played for a while due to the Estonian League's winter break.

It wont take him long. Goalkeepers can have long lay offs and come back after some rigorous training. They will have had him in every day firing rapid crosses and shots at him trust me. They dont so much need match fitness for the tempo, they just need to be kept on their toes so theyre alert and sharp to the flight of the ball.

When I played, top goalkeepers used to come back in no time after a long lay off so he should play as soon as he's available really.

I thought part of the conditions of his ban was that he wasn't to take part in any football - even booting a ball around in Graves Park. If I'm right then his return to fitness will only begin at the end of the ban, and his return to the team could be weeks after that.

As I understand it, he's ban from training with United, but there's nothing to stop him keeping himself fit.

i wasn't saying he'd be the 1 that sorts them out but he'll be the 1 that will put the trust back into defenders knowing if they are beaten theres still a good keeper to stop the shot.

He cant have been banned from training because ive seen him training with the team this season. Even showed him on sky sports news as well. The football authorities cant ban him from training! Thats a private session arranged by SUFC on SUFC property, they have no jurisdiction over that.

They can only ban him from playing association football that is sanctioned by FIFA etc.

I stand to be corrected, but I'm pretty sure that part of his punishment was being banned from training on SUFC property. Legally, there is nothing to stop that being part of the punishment.

i amsure he was banned from every football affiliated ground, team etc in the world. Rumour is he has had a personal trainer during his ban.

I would be surprised if they can enforce that because they dont hold any authority over the training sessions, they can only enforce the ruling against professional games (first team, reserves, etc.). You could go on all day about the training ground. What if he decided he just wanted to tap a ball about and run across the training ground? They couldnt prove that it was training. Free country and all that. They dont have the authority to stop the guy being present on private property.

He must have trained anyway because I saw him on Sky Sports News earlier this season stood next to Ched Evans on the training ground with a Macron top on. I had been asking the same question as yourselves prior to seeing it.

His ban or terms of his ban were such that he could watch his lad play in junior football but if he was caught shouting encouragement to him the junior club could face a ban for allowing him to 'coach'.

Will we ever get to see what this estonian kid is like?

No, he will be like any backup or foreign goalkeeper we sign - he will never be given an opportunity to show whether he is any good, he will be shipped out to Ferencvaros on a season long loan and released upon his return only to find himself moving back to his former club. Money well spent :D

No, of course the FA can't stop United letting PK onto their private property. What they can do, however, is have a rule than any club participating in their competitions must adhere to their anti-drugs regime which includes ensuring that sentences passed down by the relevant Tribunal are enforced.

Thus, if PK is banned from traning on United's property and United let him train on the property, they would face sanctions from the FA (fines, points deductions, banning from competitions and so on and so forth). Obviously, faced with such potential sanctions, the club are not going to let PK on their property to train (assuming he is so banned), whatever their theoretical right to do so.

Thats all fine, but I must have been seeing things regarding the training footage. The only other logical explanation is that the footage was filmed in advance of the final hearing but after Ched Evans had arrived - that thought has just sprung to mind and can be the only other explanation  I definately 100% saw it though.

I seem remember in an interview on RS Blackwell said they had somebody working with him and he can train with the club a month before he returns to play.

i don't know where he lives but given he's a professional footballer on decent wages I'd guess he has a garden. Surely there'd be no way to prevent him having a kickabout in his own garden. If that's the case surely the club could suggest/ask/arrange for some of our strikers to pop round after training every day to "say hello" to him and perhaps particiapte in a game of headers or volleys or something similiar.

Kenny. Blessing in disguise

Am I the only one who thinks Paddy's suspention is a blessing in diguise.
Just think under the current climate he would probably have been sold on by now.
I reckon too that after the Trevor Birch interview if Paddy hits anything like his old form he will be sold next season too.

What do you think? Do I have a point or is this B S? Or does anyone care?

Dont no about that we have been very unsettled, keeper/ back four most of the season something tells me if we had paddy in the team we might have more points on the board.. think bunn has messed up few times that certinlly cost us points. then the way McCabe is runing this club his would be sold off, cheaply. cost cuting bollocks

yeah i know wat u mean but there was few games bunn fckd up the reason he was dropped for bennet to cum in. but fair play to bunn he`s been doin well last lot of games. would like to get a look at this estonian keeper we brought in. but feel that maybe pre-season.

Surely he will be given every chance in training and the reserves to show if he's any good. Just because we don't see him in action in the first team doesn't mean Blackwell and the coaches don't get to see him.

Maybe, but not for the reasons you've posted.

Paddy would of been out of contract and wasn't happy accepting or fitting into the new wage structure. Personally I don't think he would of accepted a deal from us.

Yes. But he needs to play first team games to prove he is any good. Fitness and match sharpness can be maintained in training for a goalkeeper but they wont be truly tested until they come up against it in that environment. His qualities in training and reserves demonstrate very little against the standard of first team football.

They obviously thought Lee Baxter looked good in training and in his club's reserve side but that proved to be a false impression come match day
