Didn't notice Treacy doing anything all game.

France didn't look his best but had played RB all pre season.

They looked steady Championship squad players to me. Don't remember too many crosses from Treacy. Nothing to get excited about...wonder if they will play next week?

Well Reid must have been really injured for him not to play because I think he's been the most impressive throughout pre-season so I'd expect him to play on the left instead of Treacy.

All though Treacy may play mid week.

I agree. It would be nice to see Reid and Cotts both playing next week. We desperately need quality crosses into the box. Can't recall many last night.

Juries still out for me on France and Treacle. Thought Taylor was steady though. :)

Think they were picked ahead of Cotts and Reid for their defensive qualities so we could neutralise Johnson and Yeats. Saw almost nothing of them going forward tho Treacy showed glimpses. Defensively Treacy looked less strong than France and worried me with his fouls round the edge of the box.

I'd be looking to see more attacking options - Cotts and Reid - at the Lane and against lesser teams tho.

France looked very solid and made positive runs and used the ball wisely.
Treacy nearly scored after 2 mins and looked ok to me, give them a chance. We are once again a solid team who will be very difficult to beat and have more attackimg options this year. I have got a good feeling about this year.

Both looked very average on the TV but like you;ve said, can't be judged on one game.

I thought Treacle looked alright for the first 15, had a good shot. I forgot France was playing.

Treacle - decent in spells, probably needs to grow into the position a bit more
France - Never realised he was playing

Agreed they looked average and are probably ok cover for Cotterill and Reid.

Although they are what they are and that is some cheap squad players.

Yeah - same. Treacle looked exhausted 2nd half, but it's early days. I too have a good feeling about this season. Although I wouldn't call it a good performance it was solid - and a point against a top team who out play us for the majority of the match is not something to complain about.

All the neutrals in the Bar in Tenerife were impressed with Treacy first half and thought United were the better side overall. I agreed with them and thought Killer and Morgs were awesome.

Treacy looks like a good footballer. He seems confortable with the ball at his feet and covered well defensively at times. He did however look absolutely knackered and it was obvious he was was struggling with the pace as he got caught a number of times in possession.

France looked decent, kept possession well and seems to take a decent corner. Looks like he will bust a gut for us this season and will probably do well for us down the flanks through sheer determination.

Potentially great squad players and will really add depth to the team and give KB more options, especially away from home.

Thought Treacy started to fade in the second half. The lad looked like he barely had enough energy to drag his ass off the pitch. Played well while he had the energy.

Shame didnt see Reid, looking forward to him playing.

Overall delighted with a point, Monty MoM for me.

Squinny carried on how he finished last season.

Can see signs of progress, which is all I asked for.

Johnson for Boro looks like he could be a player, and Yeates was decent other than that thought they were distinctly average.

Got to remember this was the first competitive game, the first time they had to go all out and keep going. Regardless of fitness it takes a while to ajust to game conditions, hence the second half die off. Overall a solid performance and a good marker to put down.

Not a complaint just an observation of how much effort the lad put in for us.

Just what I like to see.
