David Holdsworth is doing a fine job at Mansfield and may be one for the future.
Maybe get him in as a No2 to someone like Coppell.
I would image though that Speed is the most likely though. For no other reason exept he's here and on the pay roll.

Holdsworth knows what the Blades are all about and has a feel for the club. Great captain in great times.

Speed is not an option, only time he got excited was when Newcastle were in town.

Not Speed.

Holdsworth hasn't done much.

Peschisolido would be an idea but he's way too short in experience. Paul Ince?

Ince is one of the few possibles who doesn't fill me with horror but I'm not sure he's the right sort of person to unite the club.

We are going to approach / have approached SOD.

That what I think for what it's worth.

Bob

Either it's we are or we are going to

or

It's what you think will happen.

If it's the latter then it's not what is planned?

If it's the former then it's not what you think will happen but fact.

If that's true Bob, I hope we're going to do it with a proper determination to get him and not as some half-hearted, semi-PR exercise we know isn't going to work.

Its a good point, which I can't counter. For once lets live in hope.

Grump,

It's not what I hope, neither is it 100% nailed on. Its a rumour and good one but I never say something is 100% unless I'm certain it is.

We really don't want to end up like SWFC did a few years back with bids for players they were unlikely to get floated here and there.
Most fans would appreciate real honesty from the board now.
It's a critical time to be communicating with the fans but at the moment there's nothing but silence.

We're in purgatory. What's the 5 year plan? If we're aiming to asset-strip and build a team of youngsters then lets come out and say this (difficult as our current crop are apparently crap).

'We really don't want to end up like SWFC'

If we have a new manager the next one is perhaps one of the most important appointments we will have made.

The internet lets all us know nowts have our say, and feelings expressed in the pub after the game go on for ever now instead of being picked up on the following game and quickly forgotten once the next three points are in the bag.

We need to break the cycle of replacing managers and not become like the pigs. Also the new guy needs board backing [time and money] but more importantly the fans backing.

Experience wise Blackie is a good choice to stick with, on the footballing side he's a nightmare. We need someone with experience and a footballing brain, not asking for much are we?

I wasn't having a dig Bob just didn't seem to read right.
I can't really answer you without giving too much away. I believe the rumour to be genuine but as Len says it doesn't mean it will happen.

Hell, maybe I'm just looking for some attention. ;)
