I'm very worried about the goalkeeper situation.

We have an outstanding squad for the division. I'm delighted with the options we have and apart from a lack of height in midfield it is hard to imagine a non-parachute CCC club having more options and quality available to them.

However, unless we sign a recognised, physically imposing keeper I fear we are going to fall short this season. Bunn to me looked one of smallest players on the pitch. Bennett can never play again after Tuesday for me after not featuring at Boro.

Bunn's kicking, apart from one mare today, seems outstanding but he just isn't tall enough. He made a decent save at Boro but nothing that you wouldn't expect any CCC keeper to save imo. He is in front of a brilliant defence and looked awful on that cross today in first half and I claim I could have kept a clean sheet today with a bit of luck

Basically we need a new keeper, assuming PK is no more, and I'm devastated that nowt seems to be happening because we are a major threat this season from what I have seen

I've not measured either of them, but i'm fairly sure Kenny and Bunn are about the same height?!, just over 6 foot i'd say?

He's not had much to do yet, but the save at Boro was a good one, got down well to his left.

Wouldn't write him off yet by any stretch!

Bunn flapped once or twice, but he is playing with a entirely new back four.

Once they get used to him instead of Kenny I think this will be ironed out.

2 games, 2 clean sheets, I can say I'm overly upset at our goalkeeping situation.

Also IMHO to write off Bennett because of one bad day is silly.

It's more the height of em both that worries me not the communication etc. I know 2 clean sheets is fantastic and I'm not having a go at him but we have £2m plus players throughout yet a choice of a novice or past it keepr neither of whom are 6 foot which is unacceptable. That flap today was horrendous and nowt to do with defenders for me.

Hope I'm wrong but Bunn is a very serious accident waiting to happen

Bunn's height is down as 6 ft (183 cm) on Blackburn's official site. Can't say I thought he looked any smaller than that.

EDIT: Beat me to it ^

Well then we will have to disagree. The confidence and decision making of a keeper is directly related to the defenders in front of him. Once they had played together they will know where the responsibility lies and what the keeper will and won't come for and for the keepers part what he needs to come for and what his centre halves can deal with.

Also to say Bennett is past it is again harsh, last season he covered Paddy throughout his "issues" with Ellis and Blackie and did a perfectly fine job.

Here's me thinking that Bunn was a more than able replacement for Kenny. He commands his area well, communicates with his back four well, considering he hasn't known them personally for very long. Comes for crosses more than Paddy ever did. Kicking is awesome and could be a good weapon (apart from one mare of a miscue today). Two clean sheets in two matches as well, can't argue with that. He doesn't really look all that short to me as well and the evidence is there in Linz's post - 6 foot is not short for a keeper. I for one (speaking as someone who used to play in goal) think he's done really well.

Its a bit unfair to write Bennett off after one howler as well at least he did it in the early rounds of the Mickey Mouse cup, he's not really put a foot wrong for us before that.
