Apologies if already mentioned elsewhere

However, for those who thought away goals don't count in the League Cup, in actual fact it looks like they do (eventually)

13.5 In the Semi-Final ties, if the aggregate score is level at the end of the second game an extra half-hour shall be played. If the aggregate scores are still level at the end of extra time the tie shall be decided by goals scored away from home counting twice.

I can't belive that they actually state "...goals scored away from home counting twice". I always thought that the "away goals count double" phrase was a complete myth, and that it was just "the team scoring most away goals". If they really do count twice (if the agrregate scores are level at the end of extra time), why don't the official results reflect the revised scoreline? And why do they specifically count double? They could have picked any number. x3, x4, x1,000,000, x1.000001 would all have done the same job.

I'm off to write a letter to the Football League, then I might pop out to get a life...

So, Spurs have an extra half hour to score away goals. But then we gat half an hour extra at home to press that advantage...

That's why they did away with it in the play offs. Wasn't it after we beat Ipswich in '97 that David Sheepshanks was so bitter that he changed the rule? It basically gave the team away second leg (who had finished lower in the league of course) the extra half hour to score away goals. Ah, what a night that was!

Another pedantic issue you might enjoy is the amount of added time issued in extra time. If you consider normal time is 3x the length of extra time, every minute added in extra time is the equivalent of 3 minutes normal time. For example, and you quite often see it, there are 4 minutes added time in extra time, and if you really think about it, it's quite some time since I last had sexual intercourse, that's the equivalent of 12 minutes added time in normal time.

Read that 5 minutes ago and am still laughing now. Have a like fella!

Never had a problem with the rule, you already have the advantage of being at home for the deciding leg plus as mentioned the extra 30 mins in front of your own fans and should it come to it for the penalties.
There are bigger issues to resolve in football than this.
