Are we naming them? As I've no idea about the guy holding the two bags and a few pens in his top pocket.

Goulding, Staniforth
More flares than an away day in the 100 point season!

Robert Maxwell?![]()
The worst foul I have ever seen committed by a United player was a Steve Goulding "tackle" in a match at Bramall Lane in the early seventies. An expensive opposition forward had the ball at his feet near the touchline in the Shoreham Street/John Street corner and was biding his time, waiting for our full back to commit himself to a tackle. Instead, Goulding without any warning and to everyone's absolute astonishment simply launched himself at his opponent, going "over the ball" by a huge margin and connecting violently with his knee/thigh and leaving him absolutely poleaxed on the ground and writhing in agony. Goulding was immediately surrounded by outraged team mates of the victim. Predictably, given that it was the seventies, the ref simply booked him. My brother was at the same game but elsewhere in the ground from where I was but it was the first thing he mentioned to me when I got home. Neither of us could quite believe what we'd seen.
Anybody else remember it? And can anyone name the opponent?
Was it Bob Latchford, I seem to recall a similar fate befalling him ending his season in the process.
