A bit of a very loose rumour thrown in at the bottom of James Shields piece in regards us trying to build links with Fenerbache due to Selhattin Baki's links with the turkish giants.

Anyway Idon't know what is in it if anything but Shields seems to put two and two together and get to yobo. Apparently the ex Standard Liege, Marseille and more locally Everton defender is looking for a move back over to England and due to us supposedly building a relationship with the club and looking to recruit a couple of Fenerbache players, this rumour has popped up.

He's 33 now but doesn't look past it in all fairness and at this level I would think he would be prolific at the back for us. He's not getting much of a look in over in turkey but then again they are romping away with the Turkish Super League so can't be short of decent players.

Hahaha James Shields how the guy draws a wage from the Stir I will never know but here's my two peneths worth.

I sincerely hope not, while a few players can play into their mid thirties and play well, if it happened this would be a bad move for the club. In recent seasons we gave signed more than enough players who have been at the end of their playing careers, hopping they would excel at this level and it's just not worked.

I heard Nigel say that a player can is in his prime around his mid twentys so for me and the club going forward I'd like to see is linked to young hungry players.

Prolific at what exactly?

Yobo would be a good signing if it meant Collins got the rocket that he needs. I lost count of the number of times against Oldham when he could have just let it run out but instead he aimlessly booted the ball into the stands.

He's the weak link in the back four at the moment and Yobo would be a serious upgrade.

Prolific at winning every single ball that comes into the box. He's very much a Chris Morgan style defender in the sense he bravely throws any part of his body into a challenge whole heartedly and honestly and the majority of the time comes out on top. With a player like Yobo you are always going to get an honest player who gives 110% week in week out with no excuses.

Could be both "prolific" at the back and a great servant to the club. When it comes to Central defenders it pays to have experienced, honest, work horses.

From the blog I read elsewhere, I got the impression that the Fenerbache links may be being engineered without NC's involvement. I hope not and that he is being fully involved in everything that may be going on behind the scenes that potentially affects the playing side of the club. We wouldn't want Nigel slinging his hook because of some Cardiff / Tan like antics behind the scenes at the Lane.

Would rather have Titus bramble.(out of contract at the moment.

Selahattin Baki says that news of an offer is untrue.

Unfortunately, there are difficulties in getting players from Fenerbache because Turkey is not in the European Economic Area.

The FA rules on non European players are as follows:

A non-European player must have played in 75% of their country's matches in the two years prior to moving to England, with that nation needing to have had an average world ranking of 70 or higher (Turkey is ranked at 40, so there is actually no issue with that bit).

I think Yobo is still playing international football but unless Fenerbache have some players with European passports we can forget getting any players from them.

Unsurprisingly, current International players will not be interested in joining Sheffield United.

He's Nigerian not Turkish and he is his Country's most capped player so there are no restrictions on him playing in England, however there's more chance of me playing for the blades.

You're playing up front on Saturday.

I know he's Nigerian and agree there's more chance of me and you playing for United than him coming.

I was commenting on James Shield's article suggesting links with Fenerbache. I'm not surprised they are trying to forge links but it is going to be very difficult unless they have access to players with European passports.

I think if we manage to get any players from Fenerbache they will be youngsters on loan, that's if it complies with the regs.
