Was dreadful earlier in his career in Switzerland and Italy. Granted, some players are late bloomers but it is key to remember the MLS is not yet comparable to top leagues in Europe. Almiron at Newcastle (a former teammate of Martinez) has looked a tidy player so far, but end product has let him down.

The last MLS game I watched (a few months ago on a late night show on Freeview), was about League 2 level. Not saying this lad is no good, he looks like a pocket tank, strong on the ball, but it would be hard to work out what level he could/should be playing at, based on his recent MLS career.
