So obviously a closet Blade ,strictly hypothetical but if he wanted to join our board would you want him ?

I thought you couldnt be doing with him Sits? ;-)

I would take him yes, elect him chairman of the FC

In.
He may teach McCabe how to make a decent decision.

Ryan's a cunt and I know for a fact that he's previously slagged The Blades off in private.

Shouldn't be allowed in Sheffield never mind near BTDBL.

Not sure we need another board member and not sure why would need him. I am all for big Jim as chairman, he waved at me once.

Not that bothered but he would look a bit of mug if he did.

Been touting Donny as the next big thing and slagging us off in the process. Despite all the money he has tried to lure to the club the attendance is still about 8k and his own shareholders turned down a multi million pound investment.

Leave him at the gypo tramps , supported them , played for them , now owns em , leave him up the road groping women for a living .

The bloke has been brilliant at using other peoples money to build his own PR . Smarmy grinning twat . No thanks.

I agree ,but I reckon he may try and approach us ,he loves publicity.

Ryans been a fantastic chairman for Donny , always gets a good manager , built them a new stadium , always handing out quality freebees to fans etc , got Billy Sharp in . He comes over on the media as likable and modest , maybe a bit too nice for some of you miserable lot .

I always thought he was decent at right back.

John Ryan (born 20 July 1947, Lewisham) is a former professional footballer who predominantly played as a full-back.
Ryan had a professional career that lasted more than 20 years. He first joined Arsenal from non-league side Maidstone United in 1964, though he never played a first team game for Arsenal, instead playing in the reserves before being released in 1965. He went on to have spells with Fulham (1965–69), Luton Town (1969–76), Norwich City (1976–80), Sheffield United (1980–82), Manchester City (1982–83), Stockport County (1983), Chester City (1983–84) and Cambridge United (1984–85), where he also had a spell as manager.
Ryan also played in the USA for Seattle Sounders and after leaving Cambridge returned to Maidstone United. He went on to manage Sittingbourne, Dover Athletic and Dulwich Hamlet.

He likes to talk alot.

Id rather have Jim Phipps as the club chairman TBH.

I know nothin other than what I've read, but as I understand it, the funding was from Terry Bramall and Dick Watson. Without them, the stadium Donny's success wouldn't have happened.

Looking at their messageboards, somehow, Ryan's the hero and the other two are the villains....

Never heard him slag United off. Has always talked about how he used to go to watch us when he was younger and that ideally he would have liked Donny and the Blades to go up last season. Makes no secret of the fact that United are his second team.

Then again we could always just make other stuff up.....

We all slag the blades off on a public forum, should we be banned too

Acknowledged mate, although I haven't said the bloke should be banned. Forums are for the purpose of a team's supporters to comment on a public forum. On the other hand, a Chairman of a football club having a pop in a directors lounge at his clubs opponents, in front of our officials, is another matter.
I was told that Ryan acted like a mardy two year old after the last time we played em. What i'm trying to say is that at Director or indeed, Chairman level, you expect better.

Interesting what ive been told today: The directors agreement at Donny between Bramall Watson and Ryan ,was that any money put into the club had to be on an equal basis and Ryan couldn't match what the others wanted to invest in the team. He has therefore resigned his position and will come back with Sequentia as chairman and they will be able to match Watson and Bramall and fund the team big time.
Be interesting to see if this happens.

What is the point in them "funding the team big time" if the best they could ever hope for is being the Northern Fulham - a nothing club in the Premier League being funded by the generosity of a benefactor? I genuinely don't see why anyone would invest millions in a club which attracts 8,000 fans to most of its home games.

Because it's a licence to print money if you get in the PL with the new tv deals.

And if they did go up there would be a hell of a lot more than 8,000 there every week.

Plus some owners want their clubs to be the best they can be.
