CONFIRMED John Lundstram signs

So it's Leonard or him, I'd prefer Leonard and hopefully now he's handed in a transfer request we can get a deal done, Lundstram is probably the alternate if we can't get Leonard, he is a highly rated player at Oxford though so I'd pleased enough if we get him instead.

Slightly different to Leonard, I see Leonard as a more box to box, energetic midfielder. Lundstram from what i know and have seen is a little more defensive minded, good passer of the ball. Would be more suited to Coutts role than he would Flecks.

That being said I can't see us signing both. Hopefully this bid has been placed incase we hit a dead end with our pursuit of Leonard.

This the guy that used to play for Everton?

Would seem odd to bid for him given Leonard has just handed in a transfer request? As i'd assume its one or the other with him and leonard for a centre mid position but good that we have potential alternatives given that we havn't heard many new CM targets lately.

We seem to be in the market for a GK, CB, CM and one or 2 forward thinking players. so I can't see both signing

Would defo be an alternative option to Leonard. Have seen him quite a lot - a fairly big lad, comfortable on the ball, good passer but always struck me as missing a yard of pace. I certainly wouldn't have him down as an enforcer type but he is very highly rated by the Oxford supporters I know.

Out of the two I'd always go for Leonard.

If true the bid is in, does that mean Leonard is indeed off to Milwall?

Lundstram has scored 4 goals in 100 appearances, so I wouldn't have thought this bid replaces the loss of Holmes

Think i'd agree on leonard if that's correct. He seems to have abit of the pace / athleticism we don't really have much of in the squad.

Would be an alternative to Leonard but this doesn't necessarily mean anything.

More than one bid can be in for the same position at the same time.

The Mirror might have reported it without knowing about Leonard's transfer request.

I remember him coming through the ranks at Everton and a lot was expected. I think he may have even played for England at youth level.

Seems to have done well at Oxford. Might be a smart signing.

From Lenny to Lunny in the space of an hour or so. Wonder if this one will still be alive and kicking after 90 odd pages.

Really rate him and another lad to come through the Everton ranks in Ryan Ledson who's also at Oxford. Think either could make the step up, Lundstrum moreso.

Dear Ron,

You now have an unhappy player and lied to us. We're now going to sign someone else instead and Millwall won't match what we bid. Going to accept our offer now? There's a good chairman.

Although, I don't see why we wouldn't want to sign both. We're hardly overflowing with CMs.

I'd have thought budgetary constraints will be the reason it will most probably be one or the other as neither will be cheap despite both being in the last year of their contracts.

I would imagine, considering we were looking to bring in 3 or 4 before the Walker money that Chris might have a bit more to play with.

And you never know with this club on the selling front. Coutts might be off.

He said himself that he's looking to bring in 1 x CM. The others would be another CB, and 1 or 2 up top. He didn't actually mention an additional GK but I'd imagine/hope one will be on the way (prob a loan)

Coutts has been offered an extension and the last update was that it was as good as agreed (same for Bash & Sharp).

My sources tell me he is rather partial to more than one alcoholic beverage...

Welcome aboard John!

If these were agreed as per Wilders why haven't any of em signed?

One comment on there made me laugh...

I don't think Wilder, with the way he likes to play football, will start a cultured midfield playmaker very often.

Yeh we played awful, direct/hoofball football last season. I don't think Fleck or Coutts touched the ball more that 2 or 3 times a game...

"They won't be relegated under Wilder, he is a Pullis/Allardyce type at heart,"

Was just about to highlight the same quote. They are so unaware it's unbelievable.
