What is John Brayford's contractual / loan situation ?
Does he re-enter our squad this summer unless a new loan or transfer deal is done ?
Kieran Freeman has just had a brilliant season so John would be second in line.
But don't we need some cover , especially in a higher division ?
Would John be content with the bench (I realise he may have no choice) ?
Is there another decent player already here who would be cover for RB without weakening another position ?
And whilst on wingbacks , who do we fancy to replace Hussey , as cover for Lafferty ?
If CW continues with 3-5-2 , we need 2 quality wingbacks on each side in the squad.
I would not want to take JOC out of the back 3 under any circumstances.
Are Brayford , Freeman & Lafferty good enough to skin (and defend against) next season's opponents ?

Brayford is our player until a permanent transfer is agreed, (which is only a matter of time in my opinion).....if (and it is a BIG if) he stays then I think he would actually be better as the right hand side of the back 3.....

I think he would be ideal in a back three and also a better option than Freeman if we play with a back 4 as he is a better defender. I hope Wilder finds a way to keep him.

Agree Bart....Freeman has been brilliant this season, ran his heart out and gave everything.....chipping in with 11 goals was the icing on the cake....however, defensively he has looked weak at times and whilst he got away with this at L1 level the Championship is not as kind.

Brayford on the right side of a back 3 with Freeman at RWB......or Bash on the right side of a back 3 with Brayford at RWB is the way to go for me.........Bash on the right of the 3 with Freeman at RWB scares me at Championship level to be honest.

Here is my new take on Brayford.
I'm his biggest fan, he was voted as a championship sides 2nd best player of the year, he's class, cost us a arm and a leg and would really suit our style of play.
On the other hand he didn't want to play for us, and not only was Freeman on the transfer list going into this season would he had the year of his life.
I've never been as swayed by a player and their attitude.
He's been amazing and more importantly he's shown the desire and spirit to play for us.
Sod the beard, we have a new one!

Freeman deserves a few months to establish himself at either RB or RWB, Brayford won't be happy with that. RCB I'm looking for us to improve on Basham if possible, I don't think Brayford is that much of an improvement on the Basham we've seen this season - he's been immense.

Brayford was a pretty good RCB he just felt wasted there.
If he doesn't deserve to just come back and pinch Freemans place you've got to say the exact same about Bash's.

He doesn't deserve to pinch either place, based on his attitude at the beginning of the season alone. And I don't actually think he's any better than either of them in their respective positions. He might be a better RB than Freeman but I'd be looking for us to sign a cheaper alternative and let Brayford go.

That looks like a SMALL if, to me;).

Daniel Lafferty
Enda Stevens
Keiron Freeman
Joe Riley

Would cover our full back positions easily. Some great competition in that lot.

I'd fancy Brayford to come in as a RCB. Can't have too many ball players and a back 3 involving JOC and Brayford on each side would be technically very good.

Brayford is championship quality player no doubt, but he not going be in the 1st team because freeman got that spot concreted in with 11 goals + in pfa team of the year. until enda stevens rumour i wondered if he might go LWB to fit in considering he started every week at burton i doubt he wil happy to be sat on the bench every week. also on his wages are alot to be a fringe

If he really want's to go, ask for a swap for Irvine, then get that McCarthy in.
