I know its been mentioned many times what a positive impact he's had on SUFC, but just thought I'd post the below link, seems to sum it all up perfectly.

He just seems to get it doesn't he?

“To me, by far and away the greatest value of what has happened in the Cup has been the impact on the club itself."
“The negativity that was hanging over the club is clearing. That, to me, is the single most important thing."
“Our supporters are being given the chance to remember why they fell in love with the Blades in the first place, basically, why they became a fan of the club."

Thanks Nigel

This is the most significant thing to me. Loving your football club shouldn't have so much negativity around it, and there was a danger it would ruin the club in the early part of this season, but like Jimbo says this is clearing and our SUFC is returning.

Can't be right...says we'd receive a 'massive' financial boost ...

I like that Jim to takes the rough with the smooth. He understands that Twitter bites you in the ass at every turn. Also, he understands that good young players are what this club need to build on and I am sure we will pick up some bright talent in the summer. Sam Clucus from Mansfield would be a good pick up and I think Luke James from Hartlepool would certainly be a good striker fit for our current formation. They are 2 players I keep looking out for.

He took a bit of stick last night about ticket prices and kick off time for the cup but he did explain it out to those people. However, I think his most telling tweet was how the cup run will have a huge "impact on the football side" of the business. In other words, how it will help us overcome FFP.

Does that mean we can afford 'The Beard' ????

sheffielder, I don't have time to check out players from other, lower league clubs. Do you actually watch the Mansfield and Hartlepool boys you've mentioned, or is is a case of you following their weekly exploits via reports? Only curious mate, as no doubt there are players of promise currently earning a wage elsewhere that might help united.

Which includes season tickets. A month ago I was thinking we might struggle to hit 10k for next season and god knows what if we actually did get relegated. If we could get a semi place and finish just outside the play offs, then the crap we have suffered this season will I believe benefit us in the future.

We had to suffer Weir to get Clough at the right time.

I don't have time to watch them either. These are players either mentioned by rumours to join us or other clubs. I only generally keep an eye out for goals and match reports.

Jim Phipps seems to get what it means to be a Blade. It doesn't seem to be a case of telling the fans what they want to hear as I think he's also mentioned to some that've met him that we can be a bit negative as fans.

I like the sound of him, but come the end of the season I'd like to hear some real concrete plans from Jim, McCabe and HRH. I don't want them to say we've got x millions, I want clear, positive statements that the club is moving forward. Cloughies contract, permanent signings etc. the biggest signing we could make is Brayford, but it must be within a financial structure.

Jim and the club are listening and bringing fans closer to the club - cup ticket prices, free travel to Fulham are a good start.

Let's take this club forward Jim!
