Tweeted this morning 'did anyone see who was on the sidelines with morgs '. Is this a clue to our new manager?

Well if he was I hope it was Robert page. Could he be the ying to Morgan's yang. He's too good for that twat Adams

That's the only one I can think of. Page was interviewed last time. Could him and morgs be the dream team

I think he just pokes fun at the "looking for manager clues" threads..It was Wadsworth someone said o_O

I overheard Jim talking to some fans outside the players entrance before the game. He referred to Morgs temporarily appointing a "legend" to help him. He was referring to Wadsworth.

Morgs has obviously sold his old mentor well to the Board !

Who knows, maybe he did make a difference yesterday.

Well what I will say is that it shows how easily swayed we are by a bloke who does nothing but talk through social media and chats to a few in the crowd.

Mans got legendary status via doing nowt but flap his gob off a bit.

Exactly anyone can talk the talk as we've heard over the last few years. So what if he's talking to the fans. Actions speak louder than words.

Quite.

I like Jim and the genuine friendly open approach but he's bound to have a little problem with the terminology.

But let's be honest we were all overjoyed with the three point outcome.

yes was nice but next 2 away 1st and 2nd in league shows what real managers can do

Most Arab clubs have intense communication with their fans using social media.. It´s just because we are used to top brass that can´t even use a laptop in the U.K

But why did we announce the takeover the day after the transfer window shut? WHY????!!!!! Aaaaaaaassrghhhhhh!

As you always have all the answers do you care to give input on this one? It's a decent enough question that no one as yet has put anything close to an answer.

Talk about shoot a chap down with no evidence. All he is doing is engaging directly with fans, something people have been screaming for on here. I don't really know what his role is, but let's give him a chance, it may well turn out that he talks the same rubbish as most of us on here.

I have observed on Twatter that a lot of the fans he is communicating with are the empty vessels and the result is they are still rattling around making the most noise but because he has responded to them they think he is brilliant.

My judgement on Mr Phipps and the Prince is that i want to see action not words and i will judge when i have seen some positive action and not just allowed myself to suck on some hot air

Because that was the point in time that it was concluded, signed and sealed?

There's no conspiracy to it.

No one is saying there is a conspiracy but some people have been duped before and don't see top dude Jim and the Prince as anything more than people who have said a lot but delivered nothing more than a quid to buy the share and a twitter feed. If that placates you then well done. I'm happy when I see players in the first team and actual improvements.

I think you're being unfair fella. The debt has been written off. Even if nothing else happened and this is the only thing that came about as a result of this deal, it's been a very big thing. We have also strengthened this year for the first time in probably 6 or 7 years. So the tide has at least turned. The fact that Weir fucked up the opportunity is a side issue.

The fact that McCabe described the investment as "game changing" will be an ongoing debate, because ask 20,000 fans to define game changing and you will get 20,000 different answers. For me, the appointment of Clough will suggest it isn't game changing, but that would be against McCabe's marker, not HRH's.

Does anyone REALLY think that we would have signed Baxter and Cuvelier if the Prince had not been on the scene or if he really had chucked just a quid into the pot...? Also, what about the players we hung on to? Long, McGuire, Williams etc...?

(Anyone spot the deliberate mistake..?)

Fair points to a one Alco. I only have one issue and that is my definition of strengthening isn't Marlon King and some reserve from Stoke. I do however concede that is a subjective point and will change from fan to fan. I'm more cynical than many having been here before so forgive me if I check and look when McCabe says its raining outside.

My definition of "Game Changing" is seeing a decent first team out there with a decent manager. Not some novice or recently retired pro who has a decent track record as a player. I want to see someone who clearly signals intent to be in a better place.

Warnock isn't that man, Wilson isn't that man, Weir wasn't that man (wrong man in wrong place at wrong time) and Morgan isn't that man (although he really is a genuine bloke). If that means we take 2-3 months to do this then so be it. I watched the Football League show on Saturday night and the point made on there was the most important one of all. We have to get this appointment right. Biggest concern is that we had to get the last appointment right and we didn't. We sacked the guy before in a fit of peak.

I hope what we are doing is sitting down with these candidates and telling them what is on the table funds wise and showing them our intent in £'s not platitudes.

What I will also say is our debt being written off actually means nothing if we don't get it right on the pitch. The level of debt and off field goings on are just a side game to me. Get it right on the pitch and I am 100% happy. Get it wrong and I really don't give a shit what the level of debt is.

If that's the level of ambition we are in a hole. One is looking a worse player by the game and Cuvelier was on the bench Saturday. Hardly KMac II is he?

It seems sensible to me that we don't put the price up for players we want by telling everyone that we have a rich Arab backer. It's not going to help the negotiations. My guess is that the money for Baxter etc was sanctioned by the board on the strength of our new investor coming on board

Because if a seller is aware a buyer has a significant amount more capital, he'll hang on for more money. It's human nature and commercially sensible on our part. It's sensible to wait until negotiations are concluded, contracts are exchanged and then announce it.

Re: follow up question of "But what will happen at the JTW then?"

Well we'll probably pay 5-10% more than market value for players from now on, but at least we'll have saved this money on the Baxter, Cuvelier et al acquisitions. We couldn't not announce the takeover in perpetuity (in order to not 'show our hand'), but it was sensible to make some savings where practicable.

I'm not really sure what the great mystery is on this.

...... does anyone think that these are Clough's tactics or that United's search for a new manager may have hit a brick wall?

I prefer to be optimistic and believe NC is a decent man of principle who is genuinely stalling until he and his mates get what they are entitled to from Derby County, but accept that I may be being naive.

Apologies BW. I've obviously grossly underestimated the phrase 'game changing' and I now eagerly await the signings of Messi and Fabregas with baited breath...
