Martinez, Guardiola and Del Bosque have the quality players to make passing football work well for them. We didnt have enough quality players and Weir made the big mistake of deciding on the style before assessing the strengths and weaknesses of our our playing squad.

This reminds me of the twitter/facebook question time in August, when dozens of people asked Weir how the hell he was going to make his prepared style of pay work with the squad at his disposal....

It isn't just Weir. Vilas-Boas played 1 man up front with a number of midfielders who didn't score very often and wondered why tottenham never scored any goals.

I don't live off it at all. I would dearly love not to have to mention style of play at all. It's the Hoofers who start it every time. I'm entitled to respond to their misguided and deliberately provocative advocacy of non-football.

Ah yes, that group of people who don't actually exist - not on this forum at any rate. But you had to deal with your insatiable desire to argue against someone, so you had to invent them.

we should be able to get quality players for this level
his mistake was that he tried to implement wholesale changes using a 'big bang' approach (it also didn't help that his best player was sold under him).. i'm happy with Nigel Clough.. he will do this over time anyway so this is a pointless argument
