Jermaine Johnson what an utter c**t.

How the hell did Wednesday still have 11 men on the field!!!

Elbows Naughton one that should been a straight red card and then gets a 2nd yellow while being subbed for kicking a bottle towards our dug out at his own bloody fans! Yet the bastards still have 11 men what the f**k!!!!

He will only get a 1 game ban yet Killa is banned for 3!!!!

Yeah he deserved a straight red for that!

But i was glad he was being taken off as he was Weds best player.

Definately deserved a red.

Referee had a nightmare.

Johnson was very good, but he has a serious attitude problem.

Has the substitution actually been made until the game restarts ? Just wondering how when the game is stopped a man can be sent off, replaced and then the game is started again ? same as I'm wondering how a high foot can be a straight red but an elbow to the face is only a yellow :confused::confused:

As far as I knew the substitution isn't done until play restarts. Therefore he should have been sent off and Sodje told to leave the pitch as the substitution isn't possible anymore. Remember Gillespie at Reading? He got sent off literally a second after the ref had blown the whistle. So he was officially on the pitch. The ref was fucking clueless. A challenge from behind only gets a yellow too? I thought the rule was that was always a straight red? The bell end!

Which one are you referring too there?

If it's on the one by O'Conner i think it was it wasn't even a foul.

By the letter of the law though, he tackled from behind and should be sent off.

Back to Johnson though, if a United player ever did that he wouldn't be welcome back at Bramall Lane ever again.

What a disgrace that ref was. He needs docking his money for that. A high foot in someones side with the tip of his boot in a 50/50 ball deserves a sending off yet an elbow to the face and a tackle from behind doesn't is appalling.

Good point made about the Substitution and the fact that the game hadn't restarted so Sodje shouldn't have been allowed/should have been removed from the pitch and the game contiued with 10 v's 10.

Looked neat, but nowt when it came to the final product. Then again, that's the only time I've seen him.

Where's MAQ, or his thread when you need him :)

Nice turn of phrase, but wildly wrong! Alan Cork was a disgrace when sent off for elbowing v Blackburn in 93/4, and Mr Santos' reputation wasn't harmed after his impression of an intercontinental ballistic missile on Andy Johnson v West Brom.

I was referring to kicking a bottle into the fans after having a paddy for being subbed.

As for Santos, we all knew what was going to happen so it was predictable. And I never saw that with Cork so I can't comment on it. But I remember Devlin being subbed and he stuck 2 fingers up at our fans, he was off very shortly after that.

Ah, fair do's fella.

Cork (not a tall man) flew in to a long ball on their keeper with his elbow forward. A shocking challenge.

The substitution is irrelevant.... because play had restarted before he was sent off...

Though I suppose the action he was sent off for was before play had been restarted, so you could argue he should have been sent off earlier and play shouldn't have been re-started.

Yeah, that's my point. The incident was before play restarted. So should he technically have been sent off?

We want a rematch :D

who cares 1-0 at the end of the day he was off the pitch and got sent off WHILEST not on the pitch.....its like me saying when managers get sent off why do players still have 11 men on the pitch lmao!

Players can get sent off when they're not on the pitch, like at half time. And we're just wondering when he is officially no longer playing.

Aye Johnson spat his dummy out a few times, but he caused some huge problems for our defense, was happy to see the back of him, and then the front of him as he came out of the shower to receive his red card, anyone notice the shower cap and the bottle of Radox in his hand :p

To be fair to him, as has been said he was their best player prior to him being subbed. However to react like that is not on at all. He shoud have been sent off before that though - the elbow on Naughton (our best player BTW) was a disgrace. To be fair to the ref he didn't have a great view of it, but the linesman should have helped him out. Shocker all round for the officials today!!

Players can get sent off after the final whistle too.

I'm sure it's happened more than once, but I posted on SF about some pig (Palmer or Pearce, I think it was) being sent off after the match. I *think* they were playing Coventry.

Yeah very true, players can be sent off after the match too. It's something like they can be sent off until the ref submits his (or her if you like that kind of thing) report I think.

you still havnt said why we hsould have had 10 men XD

Well first off, he should have had a straight red for the elbow. Then, if the ref had sent him off when the incident occurred, the substitution may not have been allowed. Hardly rocket science is it?

PS - Remember when you was pretending to be a blade? did you forget that part? perhaps slipped your mind whilst posing for homoerotic Bebo snaps?
