From todays Mirror.............

Sheffield United boss Bryan Robson is planning a shock raid on Hull to sign Jay-Jay Okocha.

I honestly can't see why he'd come to us rather than staying at Hull...

Neither would I, but I don't think we're a more attractive proposition than his current situation.

Sorry Matt,

But Hull or us, its a no brainer really. Whether or not BR is in charge, we are still a better option, and can offer a lot more in way of prospect and wages.

Not at all, Robbie.

Hull are a club in the ascendant, and are consolidating on their position and performance year-on-year.

We, on the other hand, are a club considered by many to be in crisis, and are making our way down the footballing pyramid.

We have a team in disarray, a manager whom many fans have no confidence in, and indeed fans who voice their disappointment in large numbers at every match.

Hull have a team with spirit and fight, an up-and-coming manager who is starting to come into his own after his dreadful first season at Derby County, and passionate fans. Their infrastructure is growing and improving with time.

Prospect - what prospects do we offer at the moment? None more than Hull, I wouldn't have thought. And I certainly don't think we're going to offer big wages, at least not until we start improving our situation.

You've got to be realistic here Matt, Hull have nowhere near as much to offer as we do.

They have a smaller ground, smaller fanbase, less money, and are at the same place as us in the league despite our "crisis". A "crisis" is not 6 points away from the playoff's despite playing badly the majority of the season and still having plenty of money in the bank. Yet they're having a good season in their books.

We are much bigger prospect than Hull whichever way you look at it.

Let's see how many players share your optimism come January.

Are we talking about the same Hull who got linked with loads of good players in the summer, and signed only JJ?

You talk about passionate fans for Hull, do you not think this is more of the case for the Blades. Do Hull have as many in their home ground as us Blades? Do Hull take more to away games? I think you will find the better prospect is the Blades. But I know you're on a negative streak with regards the Blades at the moment (and I don't blame you for a second) and are saying things in the heat of the moment ;)

You can't honestly believe that Hull are more promising than United?

the source is the mirror.....so it's about as likely to be true as it is for Steve to win the London Marathon with a world record time of 5 seconds :D

but, he would choose us over them I've no doubt about that

That same Hull, yeah. Just like we got linked with Gravesen, Speed, Campo and Stelios, and didn't get any of them.

I'm not saying we haven't got passionate fans. But whilst we're 'underachieving', and Hull are 'overachieving', at which ground do you think the atmosphere will be better? Would you like to go to a club with a ground full of baying, booing fans? Or stay at a club where you're considered a legend and the fans chant your name?

I may be on a negative streak, but please don't find excuses for me - I'm capable of doing that myself. I'm not saying things in the heat of the moment, either. I do honestly believe that Hull are no less promising than United at the moment. It must be great for their fans to be riding high, in terms of their usual status, at the moment, just as it's incredibly depressing for us.

This is my main point though Matt,

They are deemed to be flying high, whilst we are deemed to be in crisis. We are both on the same points.

Neck and neck in the league, yet Hull fans are in an almost robbie-esque state of orgasmic ecstacy at the current position of the Tigers; whilst Blades fans are as low as a snakes arsehole in a pit.

Sort of gives a clear explanation of the ambitions of the respective fans, if not the clubs!

so were after a player whos struggling to get in hulls first team? Great!

Should of tried to get him before he went to Hull.

Jay Jay is a bit beyond his sell-by date. If we cannot buy the quality midfield player we need, then I would prefer the loan system is used to get in the quality required. Personally I'd make a little enquiry at Chelsea about a loan deal for Steve Sidwell!

Whilst he would be a fantastic aquisition, I can't see him coming. A prem team would snap him up.
