God's country ...... Rovrum!
clayx over on BM reckons we get a small amount of money (nowt new there then) plus Porter from Derby in exchange for Ward.

Don't profess to know much about Porter.

Edit:

It also seems that Porter is out of contract this summer, so not sure how he can be part of a swap deal?

Been quite a bit of talk about this in other threads on here. Not really an exciting deal but we will have to see if it happens.

Up on the official site - undisclosed fee, and a 20 per cent sell-on clause. No players mentioned in return.

When his head's in the right place, he's a good Championship player. Unfortunately, he seemed to give up at United and descended into the petulant, error prone player who got as many red cards as goals in a Blades shirt this season.

Good luck to him, here's hoping he secures a £5m move in the future.

Absolutely. Did you see that goal he score at the weekend? Rubbish i tell you.

No I didn't, i'll check it out some time soon. Was it followed up with countless 1-on-1 misses, giving away a penalty and a sending off, before pulling up with a hamstring strain as he was walking off?

I'm with Swiss on this one. He's not a team player, gets sent off too often and is a bit too big for his boots (must be damn small boots).

If he is so good why did he stop playing for us after the pig game ?

Judging by what I've just seen on a google image search, the lad could give Dion Dublin a run for his money in the 'magnificent' stakes. :D

This is a warning to the wider forum community. DO NOT 'image search' Chris Porter....

Really liked him when he first came, he looked a player. Never looked the same after he was injured when we beat the pigs at the lane.

Good luck to him. But as already discussed I don't think his heart was at United in the end.

Agree. He was excellent up to & including the Pigs game but seemed to lose his pace & his way after the injury. Ward at his best is the sort of player we need though - pacey, positive & with bit of aggression.

And another thing is he kept getting pushed out wide. He was never a winger.

His strike rate would argue that he wasn't a striker

I would disagree. He hasn't been prolific but he has scored goals.

5 in 13 for Derby since his loan move. I would imagine he has been playing up front for the majority of his time at Pride Park.

He scored 12 in 27 and 14 in 23 at Chesterfield, understandably in L2 but still has scored goals.

Only really struggled to find the net since coming back from his injury and being used as a wide man.

I agree ,his best position was a striker ,he could be very good if partnering Henderson. Another Blackwell fuck up I'm afraid ,buy a load of wingers ,put them on the bench and play full backs, midfielders and strikers on the wing.

Ward & Henderson seemed to have an understanding as we went in to the Play-Offs. Unfortunately they both ended up picking up injuries at Preston. I still think if those two were fit for the final we would have achieved promotion that day.

Alternatively he would have started the game and picked up his two yellow cards, both of which were for handball, and left us with ten men for most of the game giving Burnley the opportunity to properly spank us.

Ward looked great when he first signed, but after his injury against the pigs he seemed to lose all interest. I don't think we'll get much from a sell-on clause because Derby won't get much when he loses interest at Pride Park.

Ward was chucked on when the game was stretched and we were just going for it. It was stupid of him to be sent of for two handballs but we will never know. I doubt he would have done that if he had started and we could have been a few up by then :D

*Dreaming Maybe*
