'Ready to be unleashed' according to the Stir.

Admits to being 'embarrassed' about his injury record since signing.

Was impressed by this line in paticular 'The first day I met the gaffer he told me to read a book called The Chimp Paradox'. Says it all about Adkins man management skills for me. On his first day meeting him he did something that might have changed this lads career and life forever.
The Chimp Paradox for anyone wondering http://tinyurl.com/odqeykx
Is it any wonder he gets the press he does about his management? He knows exactly what to say and when to say it.

Wallace is fit and firing. Says his head wasn't right nor his body last season, he always felt like he was going to get injured.
Says he's going into the same challenges this pre season and not feeling it at all.

I hope he stays fit - if we had him Baxter, Basham and Coutts fit at the same point that would be an embarrassment of riches in the middle of the park.
A fully fit James Wallace might even be the pick of the bunch...

Seriously hope this works from a mental perspective and he is also able to stay fit. On the odd occasion we saw him he looked like a "proper footballer".

I think that's probably what it was
It's not like he had a single recurring injury, they were spread around.

I just hope he's not made of fibreglass like Wilshere.

Our lass read that. Something about 'unleashing your inner chimp'. Used to wind her up a treat when she would be mildy irrational about something and i'd tell her i wanted to speak to Charly, not the chimp. :)

If you're only half into challenges and half into training because you're worried about getting injured - the more likely you are to get injured yourself.
Has and always will be the case.
Agree with breaks and fractures but not strains and pulls ,which Wallace was suffering from

I have altered it for you.

Sometimes you have to stick your head above the parapet.

Wouldn't disagree, but Baxter and Basham are both extremely talented in their own right thats all.

Steve Peters is that guy who Roy Hodgson hired to help England take penalties at the world cup isn't he?

He works with a few famous athletes as well, particularly in cycling from what I can recall from the commonwealth games.

Not Baxter for me - for me it's Wallace every time and following pre-season I expected (60:40) Baxter to start.

Adkins message has made me think again now - Wallace to start - Great news if true.

As for Basham, was one of the few defending Basham from last August. He just needs to add a few more goals this season AND stay on the bloody pitch. He has a Port Vale sending off tackle in him all the time and he has to curb his aggression slightly.

Basham is the main one to keep fit. Wallace could be as good if not better if he lived up to his potential. Basham isn't quite up to their standards but is an adequate replacement nonetheless.

Good post Danny. Didn't know the Stir come out with some half decent stuff.

Hopefully Wallace can keep himself fit and firing this season, gives us a lot in the middle of the park when he's healthy.

Wallace and Baxter would be my chosen midfield two.

Stick Basham at centre half whilst we're still lacking there.

If Wallace has had some kind of psychological block, the knowledge that he's finally able to rid himself of this and play without worrying about any part of his game is great news. That small amount of doubt can make so much difference, so if he's overcome these doubts we might finally have ourselves a player who I suspect will give us that drive we've been missing.....finger's crossed!

He's based at Uni of Sheffield and (I think) has been here for years.

Maybe we should try to get him involved?!

I'd go so far as to say that if Wallace plays 90% of our games then I'd expect top two. His potential to dominate div1 midfields is immense.

So, he's worked with a third-rate national football team and a bunch of serial drug cheats?

Gerrimin!
