Did we include a sell on clause when Jags went to everton or did the terms of his contract not allow one? He's off to man u or arsenal for 18m according to this morning's press.

After the Lescott business I think Man Utd or Arsenal will have to offer a lot to prize him away from Everton, it would be a major blow for them.

Thing is with Arsenal, they're not normally held to ransom for players
Man United though, have often succumbed to paying over the odds for players.

They both have a greater draw than Man City too, so a player may well be unhappier if an approach was turned down.

As far as our negotiating teams are concerned Sell-On Clause might as well be Santas sub-continent based cousin.

The Favourites are Arsenal, they have been short of a decent keeper all season long .....

The glazers won't sanction big money bids for players over 26 i think, so Arsenal would seem a more likely destination. Depends if Vidic goes i guess.

Sell on clause? Us put a sell on clause in a contract? Pftt dont be so silly.

I bet we dont even have a sell on clause for Beattie, Walker and Naughton either.

As far as I'm aware it's now club policy to add a sell on clause to the sale of all "young" players.

Are you sure Foxy? We may just have a clause that says we get a fiver and a complimentary bag of nuts.

No sell on clause but first choice of Man U's fringe players on season long loans with no recall during the january window.

I don't see how a release clause could have logically allowed for a sell on clause.

One things for sure, if he ends up at either of those clubs he's an absolute shoo-in for the Euro 2012 qualifiers (squad, not necessarily team)

I cant see how we could put a sell on clause into a deal that meets the minimum fee release clause he had?

As above I can't see how we'd have been in a position to stipulate any other clauses once the minimum release fee had been activated. That release fee should have at least had another couple of mil on for me - but let's not go down that road!

there won't be a sell on clause.. we couldn't even get our league top scorer back from donny

i think you've (deliberately?) missed the point.. the point i was trying to make is that our contract negotiations tend to be a bit of a shambles so i wouldn't hold your breath.. capisce?

No, point not missed. Point never actually made. If you want to criticise SUFC for contract negotiations don't hold up Billy Sharp at Donny as an example. SUFC have no control over CCC season-long loan terms, they have a 'no recall' automatically attached. Try another example..comprende? (Isn't this using Euro-words to look clever just total bollox?)

Right but wasn't Kyle Walker on a season long loan that happened to have a recall attached?

Confused!

Walker and Naughton definitely have a sell on clause should they be sold for more than Spurs bought them for.
