Jack Wilshere

BBC just reporting that Wilshere is available on a free transfer. He previously played at Bournemouth and if he's leaving for football reasons (i.e. he wants a fresh start and just to play football), is it worth a cheeky enquiry?

Hell of a talent and he'd slot right in ;)

I like Wilshere.

But he would be aware that dropping down a division, and fighting for a shirt with Coutts and Fleck would be a step too far ;)

Will go to another Premier League team. Wolves supposedly monitoring. Reportedly on £90k a week, doubt he’d get out of bed for less than £50k

He probably doesn't even know where the norf is anyway

West Ham trying to buy out his contract, or offering to make up the difference between whatever any club offers him as a free agent and his £100k-a-week West Ham salary.

Anyone fancy it? Get him on a £20k-a-week contract and force West Ham to pay £80k-a-week to play for us?

no.

Who knows with the miracles our medical team can perform could we be the one club to keep him out of the treatment room. With that said, still probably no

Look, I know he has a sick-note template for microsoft word® on his laptop but Arsenal want to loan out this, the most talented English midfield player (citation required).

Couldn't we use him? .....if Arsenal were paying 99.99% of his wages naturally............
Please god no🙏

Why would we waste £20k a week on someone who’s sick, lame & lazy and getting paid 4 times that by someone else?
Hardly think he’d be trying & working hard to get in the first team. His playing days are done but his earning days aren’t done just yet.
So it’s a huge no from me.

He was an amazing talent but injuries have ruined him. Obviously Wilder and the team have taken these kind of players on before but not with those wages. He clearly doesn't want to leave as same wages won't be offered elsewhere (can't blame him for that) but there is no way West Ham are going to pay up wards of 80k a week for him to play elsewhere. They will be looking for the other team to pay that much. Reckon he'll go to Fulham, Leeds or Villa

I see he's had groin issues and those type of injures can often be problematic for years, same with hamstrings. If he signed on a pay as you play basis then I'm sure he'll get a club. Doubt it'd be us though and as others have said think we'd be better off looking elsewhere. You never know though! They want Lundstram according to reports, they might see if we're interested in a swap with them still giving us the same transfer fee for Lunny.

I think he'd be lucky to get a PL club like Villa and Leeds. Burnley more likely or West Brom I'd say, but he'll have to take a huge pay cut as you say. I think Villa and Leeds want high profile foreign based players much of the time. Fulham possible I guess.

I'd take him if he was willing to play on a short-term deal, with a low basic wage with good bonuses - I imagine he wouldn't, but who knows.

Haha. I do feel for Wilshere as would have been a huge star if it wasn't for injuries. But he's rich beyond his wildest dreams, so i guess that's some consolation.

P.S. No way.

The divisive ones are the best eh...

For me, if you could get him fit, he could be a very good player in our system and potentially cover off two of our midfield positions. I reckon you could probably get him on reasonably priced wages (if this West Ham thing is believed) and no transfer fee / low signing fee. We’ve helped injury prone players in the past too and have a great track record on them among existing players. Can’t completely write this one off. We signed Jack Rodwell after all. I’d be more on board with this.
