Wilder isn’t getting this team up. He’s done amazingly to get us competing to this point. But let’s be honest we are nowhere near the squad Burnley possess, let alone the defensive record they have (now they have the likes of Edwards and the rest…). They simply have better players than us. And a manager who’s proven even more so than Wilder is at this level.

We’re unlucky this season after battling for so long I’d say. Props to everyone.

It’ll be tougher after selling our best players and all that etc etc etc…

We’ve had a good ride and Wilder deserves to own it and go again. I feel for him.

But please… don’t let him sign anyone beyond 6 figures ever again.

Just like when they played Sunderland last week, Leeds just found an extra gear and got the 3 points.

As much as I hate losing to Leeds in general, there's no shame in losing to that Leeds side who should be more than 5 points clear of 2nd.

Wilder had it right after the reverse fixture, whoever finishes above Leeds will win the league, especially after they've had 6 points off of us and Sunderland in the space of a week.

Our performance in that last 20-25 minutes was rather flat compared to the rest of the game, but that doesn't mean we're not good enough to go up, we've played worse than that and still won games.

We've got 12 games left, just pick up as many points as we can and see where we are at the end of the season.

Playoffs would still be a good achievement this season (given where we were last summer) even if it would be a little disappointing given how we've been in the top 2 for most of the season.
Exactly this,it was a rerun of their game last week,so they had telegraphed what could happen a week in advance.
Sunderland looked great for a half and Leeds just took over the game in the second.
We played up to the mark of what was required for about 20 minutes,on the run up to half time we were struggling to contain them, their press all over the pitch was too much for us.
It was like watching a snake slowly coiling around it's prey, crushing and finally devouring it's prey.
Our subs made us worse, theirs made them better, they attacked in numbers down the sides or through the middle with sometimes 5 or 6 players in and around our box and giving them options out wide to stretch us and create room in the box, their half chances came thick and fast and it was only a matter of time before clear ones came.
Our midfield could not get to grips with the situation and nobody could hold the ball up front.
The gap may have been 2 points on paper, but is way more in reality from the evidence of last night.
What the knock on effect from this defeat will be on the team we will soon see, Burnley will be licking their lips at the situation,so the stakes are now ramped up even higher for that game to at least avoid defeat.

In regards to the points made. We sell Anel & Hamer I think with some decent reinforcements we could improve. We need 2 centre halves who are bigger and more dominant.

If Hamer goes we can attract wingers to the top of the championship either via a loan or a permanent. They are many out there.

In regards to your final point it’s pretty clear Wilder isn’t in charge of signings. Look at the 2 random wingers. The Americans are in charge and it’s data driven so the good points / bad points of Wilders recruitment are now out of the window.

I thought a draw would have been a fair result. We are not going to dominate Leeds for 90 minutes but we needed the 2nd goal when we were on top. Until they scored I thought that we looked reasonably comfortable but they do have wide players that can hurt you and they did.
The focus now is to move on from this and go after 2nd place. Forget Leeds, and focus on staying ahead of Burnley.

So you don't think Wilder wanted Choudhury, Cannon, Holding...? You've just alluded to the CBs Wilder is looking at in shoutbox, so which is it? It's quite obvious that the 2 lads you refer to are part of an early foray into utilising data as an identifier of players rather than it (currently) being the only approach. I'm afraid Wilder ain't off the hook yet...

Leeds do seem to get stronger as games go on, just as they seem to be getting stronger as the season progresses.
We deserved a draw from last night, no shame at all in the way we lost. We had a go and we're not quite good enough. A big but though is, are we better than Burnley, play them with a full strength team and I think we are.

To anyone who doesnt think we sat back eased off or whatever you call it were not watching close. When vini went off for 30 secs after his injury when he ran back on he put 4 fingers up and drew an imaginary line with a gesture ,telling those around him to go to a flat 4 across the middle. From that point on we sat back and didnt press home our early dominance, this was totally at wilders call, in my opinion wilder bottled it and tried to hold onto a slender lead
