It could be worse, we could have won.

For once the Blades aren't doing the usual trick of papering over the cracks until the transfer window closes. This is a good thing as it makes it clear to everyone at the club that more investment is required, particularly in central midfield. Chris Basham is a decent utility player at this level but he really shouldn't be an automatic starter. We need a midfield general, I don't even mind an older player as long as his legs haven't gone. Ideally a real leader who can take the captaincy off Sharp.

Its been clear to everyone involved with the Club for the last 5 seasons, but we just cannot seem to break the "habit" of trying to escape this division on the cheap.

It is testimony to how little the joint owners and their advisers know about football, which is realistically f**k all !!

Don't get me wrong ...... I'm not advocating that we spend a fortune, but we must spend a reasonable sum NOW, not on 31st August or in January to create a balanced, consistent squad with competition for places. There is currently no competition for places because we don't even have a starting eleven which is competitive in this division.

Tufty knows it, he's said it ......... but the usual problem prevails. We've spent ten bob and the incompetents at the helm think "job done" !! :(
