If Kevin Mac's injury is going to be prolonged, should we look for a quality stand in? Without someone of his size and quality we looked woefully like the team that was relegated last year at the sty.

I would prefere Kevin to make a quick and full recovery but if that is not likely I suggest an emergency loan. Any likely candidates?

I'd say no, for now. Replacing McDonald with Monty is a complete swing of the pendulum of playing styles (let's not get onto abilities, please :)) and we surely have other options within the club to try. Williamson, Quinn, Lowton, McCallister?

We actually perfomed well for 50 minutes and had we converted 2 chances that we easily could have, we'd be viewing things in a completely different light. When we lost our shape, there was a lot wrong other than yust Monty's presence. There were 22 players hoofing it by then.

DW has said that he has had one eye on the loan market as he is always looking to strengthen. If things don't go well with the midfield tomorrow he will have some pressure on him for saturday.
Who is to say that McD won't become injured at another important juncture we know what our chances of going into the playoffs with players unavailable through suspension or injury have done to us in the past.

Get Andy Reid in from forest. His kids said they want to grow up in Sheffield and he once wore Sheffield united gloves

I hope not. I really don't see the point of having a 'development' squad, or an academy if those players don't get a chance to prove themselves when first-teamers get injured.

If we are in dire need e.g. Macca, Willo etc. are going to be injured for a chunk of the season then we need to get someone in til the end of the season.

Although there are few players out there I think that are in need of a loan move especially if you look at QPR's vast squad.

Lee Cook and Hogan Ephraim spring to mind as they have both returned to QPR from loan spells at Orient and Charlton. ( I think )

I would say yes. Development players are not for use in the heat of promotion battles IMO if we can help it. Look at Long cost us a game early on. Using the development squad now could break them for good. (yes it could make them as well) I would just prefer someone that has done it at league 1 level or above
