That for the first time is happeh that Sky have changed the fixtures to 530 kick off..

I’ve been looking at the ale house offerings in Derby and it looks world class with about 5 brewpubs and some right choice. All not far from the station. The normal 8 pub squeeze now has the option of a 10 pub squeeze or and 8 pub getting to know the locals, sampling the cheese board and struggling to select what the locals delicacy is on offer..

Seems a right day out with maximum time to enjoy the cultural highlights before seeing United cementing top spot, tonking the overpaid neighbours and taking max opportunity.

Well done Sky for thinking of the common drinking man,,

I don't care if they kick off at 2am so long as we do the business.
If wilder himself posted on this thread, that would be his response

As for me, Work will be appeh as I’ll get to watch it after work rather than the last couple of hours of the day.

Mind you I’ll still not do anything during the last two hours

Balls to that. If I can't get a pint of fosters I'm twatting people in the kidneys, Blade or ram. If it's over £3.50 a pint a tiny disabled child is going down, Via the medium of flare.
If its over £4 make it an old disabled woman in a wheelchair !

Alexandra Hotel is my favourite in Derby. Brunswick is just around the corner, but I prefer the Alexandra - bigger range of beers.

I’ve heard they’re a bit harsh on match days so we are going there early before the bouncers. Then to the dolphin, the silk mill, the tap, the Exeter and the Smithfield. That’s the definite skeleton plan that will be complimented with randoms as we head round. Bit of a river beer heritage focus really. Got time for a few after to celebrate.

Anyone know a good place for a decent bottle of champers??

My lad's racing till 5, so then we can listen to it on the wireless on way home, so yeah, lovely.

Best advice to get in the Alex: don’t wear colours, wear something really drab and 1970’s to look like you’re from Derbyshire. Platform soles, flared trousers and cheesecloth shirts will go down great. Go in single file and conga up to the back door rather than the front door. And say “hello duck” to the bouncers. You’ll be fine!

Brunswick is run by a pig, fuck that, I'd rather drink from the river than line a piggies pocket!!

Absolutely right... no swigging at anyone’s trough here. Loads more options in a place like that. No pint shall touch my lips that’s been pulled by trotters...
