Agreed. When the pressure is off, people behaviour differently, express themselves more and become a totally different person. Take my ex wife for example, with the decree absolute, and the pressure of our divorce removed, she was a totally different person. People who’d seen her always said she looked happier and younger, and from the stories I heard she was a lot more outgoing, lost her inhibitions, especially with strangers. Ipswich players could react in the same way, with relegation confirmed, the pressure is off and they may express themselves as footballers better.

My ex too, once she'd got all the money should could stop pretending to be ill and having asthma, as we left the courthouse, I wondered which of us had the best deal and decided to measure it by who had the most spring in our step. They may do, but it has been a complete lack of quality that has got them where they are. I don't see them suddenly changing that because they are playing us, a team that has lost twice since Boxing Day. There is every chance that they are absolutely sick to death of this season, just want it over as soon as possible and will want to get their heads down on the 4 hour coach journey that is awaiting them.

However, for what it's worth I think they will give us a bit of a game, but only in spells. If we stay switched on and do our thing consistently it's hard to see us not coming out with the points. Here's hoping anyway.

If the worst does happen then we get another chance against Stoke, but I think Villa will do Leeds anyway, so it might not even matter.

When you are on the kind of run that Villa are on then confidence is obviously sky high and the players will be chomping at the bit to play the next game.
They will also want to gain a psychological advantage over a possible play off opponent, and try and leapfrog their midland neighbours so I'm expecting another Leeds loss.

You're thinking about the fans. I find it very hard to believe experienced pros would risk their career and reputation like that.

At the very best they won't be putting in a huge effort given there's not much to play for with regards their club, but that's about as much as we can hope for, and we shouldn't even be hoping for that. We need to go out there and grab the opportunity with both hands, not wait for it to be handed to us.

Yes, as Colin Murray and Steven Warnock pointed out - as usual - on Monday's Quest prog - 'S'not fair! Leeds are having to play after Sheffield United. Again.' Fucking diddums. Leeds mastered cheating and gamesmanship under Revie and are still at it today. ('Spygate').

Or - in football terms - players who've tossed it off all season suddenly start putting a shift in as they look for a new club. Such as Forestieri. I'd hope any new clubs would have noticed (and made a mental note) of this. CW would have. Players who you need to 'step up' at this critical stage of the season can suddenly go AWOL. Bamford is a prime example as was penalty-bottler Jordan Rhodes. (Strange how his early form at Norwich has petered out...)
