Imo the most notable part of this (besides the focus on the game) is the idea of trust, no-blame culture, harmony in the squad. Worth listening to if you want more on that as it wasn't easy to summarise.
  • no injuries
  • "pressure makes diamonds"
  • spirit, camaraderie, unity about the players
  • we're scoring goals
  • and there's support at Bramall Lane
  • everyone pulling together
  • Barnsley brought in CH from Burnley seems like a catalyst
  • players working hard
  • I think in the long term we'll do it
  • but we have to win the next game
  • AG: Billy said something clicked eight games ago, what was it? NA: Could be shape, smaller group, everyone getting used to each other but it has clicked
  • future looks bright, have to win the next game
  • everyone working hard
  • consistency in team selection
  • strength of character
  • bottom layer is trust
  • extended reference to the influence of Hammond (without naming him) on the squad (may apply to other senior pros too)
  • we've introduced younger players
  • credit to senior players
  • everyone should feel part of the team
  • we are playing as a team
  • Heckingbottom said United's physicality is a threat
  • is that to United's advantage
  • good that they're thinking about us
  • we have to avoid giving stupid free kicks away
  • Barnsley good on set plays
  • Shrewsbury had to defend the ball in the box - couldn't close the keeper down
  • played some really good football
  • we have to beat Barnsley - everything else is irrelevant
  • pleased with the way things are progressing
  • first foundation is trust, no blame culture
  • get the best out of each other
  • no-one's going to play the perfect game all the time
  • reading SAF's book: if you get seven players in the team in a game to do well then you've got a chance
  • difficult to perform at your peak every game
  • you might make a mistake
  • we're getting there
  • camaraderie
  • unity linking the Academy and the first team
  • about being and working as a team
  • a shame the season's going to end
  • processes already in place for the summer whatever division we're in
  • Barnsley good footballing team
  • excellent delivery
  • keep good possession, patient
  • credit to them - but I like to think we're playing good football
  • get down to Bramall Lane Saturday morning

Barnsley brought in CH from Burnley seems like a catalyst

First thought when I heard this was: We were after him too, but he ended up with them, and look what happened - though he doesn't say that.

extended reference to the influence of Hammond (without naming him) on the squad (may apply to other senior pros too)

This bit is at 3:45. Talks about attitudes and behaviours.

Reading between the lines maybe Collins' propensity for having a go at everyone meant some level of disharmony in the dressing room. Sounds like he thinks they are more of a team now.

"Blame culture gone...important not to blame individual mistakes...seemed to start clicking 8 games ago...."

So effectively something changed before the Oldham game. Would anyone like to hazard a guess at which quick-to-blame element disappeared prior to that game?

Just for info: This comes from Billy earlier in the week initially - and is raised by the interviewer.

George Long interview in The Star "“We are clearing balls on the edge of our box now, rather than in the middle of it, and keeping that high line means we aren’t scrambling for second balls on the edge of the area when they do get cleared"

I wonder which "I don't know why I was dropped" centre-back George is having a dig at here?

Well what with Billy, George, the interviewer, Barnsley's centre half - it turns out this interview is all about Collins, even though his name is nowhere near it.

If a man trumps in an empty lift, does it smell?
Have you never got into an empty lift going up and thought 'I'll just slip one out' and then it stops at the third floor because some lazy twat can't be arsed to walk to the fifth? The look on their face indicates that yes, it does.

"processes already in place for the summerwhatever divisionwe're in"

I genuinely don't believe this, history shows we are fucking useless and are still scrambling around on August 31st.

Actions speak louder than words

Talk less. Act more

Peeps may decide to renew when they actually see those actions. Peeps may not based on false promises

I remember when we first got Adkins I was reading the 'The View From Southampton' and someone was talking about his positivity and 'pressure makes diamonds'. I know for some people it's a bit naff but I rather like it. His interviews may great on some other people (mostly when we're playing bad, I think it's natural for people to get annoyed with anyone at that point, except maybe Jurgen Klopp) but on a good run I feel more excited about the next game than under Clough. Adkins knows we are going out to win it and drawing isn't good enough, Clough seemed to go out to draw, anything else a bonus.

Could be mcgahey had a good game against Crewe and then disappeared when Baptiste recovered from that slight injury

I do believe this despite Sunjihi 's post. This is what I was told about 3 weeks ago

'Pressure makes diamonds'. Doesn't it also make squashed hedgehogs? Just saying.

Pressure also make people depressed and ill . We the fans have had to endure this under the Clough and Adkins management . Adkins has a first glass degree in positive thinking , let's change the talk into actions or we will be adding to the pressure already on the health service.

They always say bulshit beats brains . Perhaps not with Adkins , hopefully .

Let's keep our feet on the ground with the ongoing if , buts and maybes , with this top 6 . One game at a time , boring and not good radio , but true.

So 'Adkins has a first glass degree'

Is that why listening to him is so paneful?

If a man trumps in an empty lift, does it smell?

If Adkins not even if he has shit himself . The man is just sweet and not full of shit . He has all the trumps needed.

Just look and believe we're he is taking us and watch the players play like diamonds until the end of the season, with pressure on them.

Ablutions to all

Adkins just better come up with the goods or we will be in the shit not him . Failure in football pays with nice compensation.
