Is there any player that we could sign that would make a significant difference to both the team, but more importantly to the fans? I am sure there will be many unrealistic ideas, but is there anyone who we could attract that would do the job - a bit like the last time we signed Brian Deane.

I suppose a similar signing, (although his wage demands would mean it would be a non-starter) would be Michael Brown. Realistically the best we could hope for would be Andy Reid

Neil Danns. He's impressed me every time I've seen him play. Just the sort of midfielder we need.

In terms of a name to excite the supporters.....Andy Reid would fit the bill.

SCB,what a bloody good shout. Danns has always impressed me every time he's played against us,and of course, there's also the legend that is Darren Ambrose...who I'd sign to piss the Pigs off for starters...:D

This was my first thought. He'd have to be an ex-Blade. And not just any old ex-Blade. I can't see Michael Tonge exciting people.

Or a local lad - a bit like Bellamy for Cardiff - the only one I can think of in that mould at the mo is Kevin Davies, but he isn't a real possibility at the moment.

Nicky Butt?

Gonna get slaughtered for this but i would have gone for John "The Beast " Parkin if I`d known we could have got him for the price Cardiff paid .An impact player and a potential crowd lifter

Not at all. As a short term option, absolutely. Aside from nuisance value, he scores very good goals. One or two belters this season in a very poor side.

Prefer Messi or Xavi :D

beat me too it.

We could sign Iniesta tomorrow and some chuffs on here would be very uninspired

Xavi has carried Iniesta for years. Plus Iniesta spent the whole of last season injured. Comes in and scores 1 goal for Spain the World Cup final and suddenly he is Pele. Inesta for SUFC? No thanks!?

Andy Reid already did this. He came in and showed his quality straight away. He gave the team a lift and really made the differences in a few games (i.e. the winner at Milwall).

Andy Reid would lift the place but we need to get a real leader in the pack as well.
We are really missing Morgs leadership qualities on the pitch. That is a hell of a gap to fill.

Wow, how bad is our defence if we're missing Morgs. Yes he's a leader and decent in the air but other than that he's very average . Add to that he's now well past his best and I would suggest we have to look elsewhere for a captain to inspire.
