I don't think we need to spend vast amounts on proven players now. We are practically safe so what's the point of throwing money away when we need that for the summer? Proper recruitment is made in the summer.

If true it's far from ideal, but you work with what you have, and I'd imagine that Chris will look to secure adequate players in the short-term. Hopefully it's the summer when we see a better quality of player joining us, for what will be another season in the Prem.

Wilder has made a good point that the January window is tough one to sign players as every club puts their prices up.

Having a modest budget in January seems sensible, Wilder doesn't want us to get fleeced on transfer fees. Especially if most of these players are going to be for cover.

Apparently some random Forest fan on Twitter said he isn't very good so that tells us all we need to know...

It's not just one fan though.

It seems to be all of them, although there is one that would like to keep him but only as cover and only if they are receiving less than 400k for him, but he is on his own.
General consensus is he looses concentration alot, prone too rash challenges and likes to finger point alot when things go wrong and basically not very good. Also some suggesting he might have been involved in a bust up after the Wednesday game.

Its certainly a strange one but as always I will Reserve judgement until I have seen him play for us.

I personally think that CW and crew have assessed what's available to fit the role they were looking to fill, at the price they can afford and this guy may have been their answer. But that could just be me being quirky and maybe those armchair critics with their negative comments know better?

I doubt this is any indication of budget.

The defence absolutely picks itself.

He's sensibly brought in more appropriate support characters for Basham and O'Connell. Why spend 10m on such a player? It was needed but not where the budget wanted spending.

I don't see this as a reflection of a push for Europe or not.

I'm more interested what we do to put pressure on Lunny. That could certainly improve the XI. And even then, Besic is in the squad and worthy of a run out.

I also don't see that much of an urgency up front unless Eze, Bowen or Watkins are going cheap, which they aren't.

If Bryan, Stearman, Clarke go and others follow, then by all means get a loanee from abroad but no need to spoil what we have right now.

Obviously it’s too far to send scouts all the way to Nottingham to watch the player a few times so we’re probably using Football Manager for recruitment.

Bryan was his back up early in the season, or shifting enda inside and putting Osborne in at left back. Both of which I suggest would be worse than bringing in a guy who our management team consider suited to slotting straight into the team as a like for like replacement.
O’Connell is one of our best players we are subsequently not going to spend a fortune for a guy to warm the bench when other areas of the team require better players.
Robinson has not been getting into the Forest team as they do not play the way that we do
