I didn't want Phillips to come back. He's clearly a great player but his fitness and Wilder's tendency to obsess over a player put me off. I was convinced he wouldn't play for than 20 games this season and when he wasn't in the squad for Lincoln I pretty much laughed.

His appearance on Wednesday and his 90 minutes today convinced me he is a genuine asset this season and is going to be a huge part of this season if we can manage him properly.

You have said very elegantly exactly what i have thought and said about KP especially when he was not even benched for the Lincoln game. I only saw highlights of Bristol game but seems to be general agreement he was MOM.
I am surprised but delighted to eat my humble pie. Lets hope he can keep it up.

I think the only reason he is not our captain, is because he is a loan player. Maybe CW will think differently in a few weeks.

It's funny that. Phillips was a weapon to berate CW about his abysmal recruitment, but as you say, plenty will pretend that they always knew he'd be an asset.

Nobody doubted that at this level if he got his fitness sorted he would shine
But his continual breakdown over the last few years made that seem highly unlikely
