Taken from the Football rumours website... not sure how much of this is true but out of the Players In list, I would quite happily take lita, surman, zheng zhi, halford, duberry as cover and O'Toole!

derbyshire, 2m blackburn - Not a Chance

zheng zhi 500k charlton - Why is this guy rated so well?
halford 1.5m sunderland - Definately
beckford 1m leeds - Possible
duberry free - NO CHANCE
otoole 700k watford - Didnt perform but could

quinn 1.5m boro - Maybe needs a fresh challenge
webber free palace - Likely
sharp loan scunthorpe - hmmmmmmmm, thought this too
hendrie 500k blackpool - Doubtful, needs to be someone who can afford him
carney 300k norwich - Doubt he will, more likely to head overseas
cotterill 1m cardiff - Bloody Hope not

Interesting. I think that some people are stereotypical with league 1 forwards, especially with Billy Sharp being immense in that league and then not coming close to recreating that kind of form here.

In all fairness to Billy Sharp though, he hasn't really been the main forward during his time here. I thought his best form was when Blackwell first took charge and he formed a decent partnership with James Beattie and the two were linking well and Sharp was starting to score a few.

Simon Cox could be a decent signing, I would prefer him over Beckford in all honesty. I think Cox has had a better footballing education at Reading where as Beckford was non-league and I haven't been impressed with his overall team play that much whenever I have seen him for Leeds, but hey I don't know it all lol
 
I doubt we'll get beckford for 1m.
I'd love matt derbyshire at the lane, but im pretty sure he signed a 1 year loan deal for olympiakos.

If we will not sell cotterill.
If we get anything close to 1.5m for quinn i will literally piss my pants who at ever bought him.

Surman, quality player, score a stunner against us a remember.

Halford, YES YES YES YES

Lita, Duberry and bailey are definate NO'S!
 
Well i don't know what you are going to think of this one, when me & mrs mexblade went down for that load of rubbish on monday, we were staying with family in south ruislip & while there having dinner in the middlesex arms the landlord [massive chelsea fan] told us he had been drinking with John Oster's dad & was informed he is to join the Blades, personally i hope not

harewood, 2 million wolves -- not a chance, he's at villa anyway
derbyshire, 2m blackburn -- going to olympiacos for £3m
bailey 1m charlton -- good young player
surman 1m soton -- good signing, new left back or left mid
zheng zhi 500k charlton -- bargain, chinas best player
halford 1.5m sunderland -- obvious, class player
beckford 1m leeds -- would love him at the lane, but will be more than £1m
duberry free -- solid centreback, good signing, but wages may be high
otoole 700k watford -- looks alright, would spend £500k max tho


Players OUT:
quinn 1.5m boro -- good fee for average player
webber free palace -- will happen, warnocks been after him for ages
sharp loan scunthorpe -- likely, billy aint good enough...
hendrie 500k blackpool -- can blackpool afford his wages?
carney 300k norwich -- fans like him at norwich, raved about him during his loan
cotterill 1m cardiff -- not a chance, we paid £2m anyway, and why would we sell him?
 
Beckford is NOT good enough for this league.

Cox would be a better option if we were going for a League One striker.
