Come on you lot from BU welcome me like the prodigal son:D
That Blades mad place is to heavy for me. This seems like the place for gentleman of a certain age. And ladies of course.
Can I just ask what the rules are for friday night drunken ramblings how long does the ban last.

:hello: Welcome to the forum AlienWoodward! :)

hope you stick around and enjoy the banter, we're all blades ain't we :D

Oh, so you've turned up at last :)

Can I take it I'm not top of your 'People to have shot when I become President' List anymore..?

Awww Duncs you know I wouldn't shoot you.
Anyway I think I can get some semtex now so guns are out for me

Hey I like these smilies:drunk:

Meatballs Alien!

There are plenty of us who are of a certain age, who all have a very similar hitlist of 'those against the wall' when I become President. Today I added 'those who keep the teaspoon in the mug whilst they drink.' :D

Enjoy the forum! :)

In short, miserable buggers ;)

Welcome to the forum AW.. now we've finally got you sorted :)

It is pleasant on here isn't it! I agree with the Bladesmad thoughts - seems that is where the angry young people go! It is nice to see so many familiar names from the BU board arriving on here.

Yes indeed. When I was in limbo following the BU vanishment I stumbled onto BladesMad first and there found a thread for a bunch of teenagers intent on starting a firm.

I'm sure it's all good stuff... but not the place for a 32 year-old Guardian-reading scarfer like me.

:-)

Welcome to the forum! :)

After the closure of BU. I signed onto Blades Mad and boy are some of the folk on there are so mad they're past the buffers in Barking and heading on towards Dagenham.
I'm debunking from there to this forum as I can see familiar names from.
BTW ---Why did it lose without warning?

Think that's the main source of disgruntlement.

Windmill should have worked with other forums to offer alternatives a couple of weeks in advance of the closure. I also think it's a backward step from the club in terms of communication with the fans.

Forums are NOT that hard to run IMO. A couple of trusted moderators like Len and Curtis would have sorted it out a treat.

Yeah I know what you mean a bit like an alcoholic in a wine bar ;-)

BMad appears to be full of angry kids. I'll be looking out for the ultras group tomorrow :D

In their defense I think they are fans of a certain age that just want to stand together and attempt to create a terrace type atmosphere.

It's not something I'm interested in, but if that's what they want to do at the back of Shoreham I don't see the problem with it.

I don't think the hooligan or "firm" aspect has been mentioned, certainly not in the threads I've skimmed.

It amuses me though, with their claim that they don't want to do anything wrong and they aren't going to break any laws.

Erm... like it or not, standing at football is breaking the law :) At least the law of the ground.

Sure and some of their attitudes to people who don't want to stand is OTT.
However, I can see why they want to bring back that terrace atmosphere certainly to Shoreham, and if it is just a group who buy tickets together at the back I don't see the harm.

Then again I'm a big advocate of the German inspired safe standing areas. Not only would it create a cheaper area therefore making the game more accessible to all but it might bring some of the atmosphere back. I've never experienced anything like what I used to as a kid on Shoreham.

Maybe its an age/nostalgia thing.

Hey up ....... i'm BeightonBlade or Mr Positive :D
i love it how the Blades have more AMBITION than a bag of chips. ! :D

I quite agree... I don't agree with some of the selfish attitudes though. Fair enough they want to stand, but you aren't supposed to, and not everyone wants to :)

Given the option, I will always stand away from home but I think if one of them chose to stand in front of my 72 year old grandmother, an attending Blade of 60 years, they would be told in no uncertain terms that they should perhaps go elsewhere.

But then, women at football matches, another touchy subject elsewhere ;)
