We used to be a great club for letting fans down but what have we had recently?
Nothing! It's been 6 weeks since the season finished and all we've had is a new manager who has only managed at lower levels and with relatively little success, no players signed yet, no money and the likes of Charlton stealing all the best players.
These things are old hat now.
Come on United, get your act together and give us something fresh to moan about.

Let's get in the real world.

We are a league 1 club , with a limited budget and large overheads . Yes all our own doing with mismanagement both on and off the field.

Wigan last season , Charlton this season seem to be setting the pace .

We are were we are , and better get used to it . We can like it or lump it.

Not sure I agree Charlton signing all the best players.
Novak. ok but nothing special.
Holmes. only seen the you tube video of him. He looked good, but he's 29 moving to a higher league. I can live without this one.
Ajose Not sure if he's signed or not yet.
But this is probably the only one out of the 3 I would have liked us to sign. Him and Sharp up front potentially 40+ goals between them. I know a striker is not Wilder's priority but I do think we need one.
I personally don't trust Adams to be consistent enough.
They are also supposedly interested in Agard from Bristol city.
So with the possible exception of Ajose, if he has signed. I'm not that bothered about the others.
There is still 5 weeks until the season starts let's compare signings then. UTB.

Used to be a club of rough and ready guys, now one full of wet blankets and old women by the looks of things. Balls the size of maltesers. :rolleyes:
 
I posted this in a different thread yesterday, but it seems pertinent to this one too, so in case you missed it:

I once heard Kevin Blackwell describe transfer policy as follows:

If you're Chelsea, Man Utd or Real Madrid and you need a left back, you identify your No. 1 target, get the chequebook out and pay whatever it takes to sign that player.

However, if your Sheffield United you identify 5 left backs that could all do a job. You rank them 1 to 5 and then start negotiating at the top of the list, work your way down, and you end up with whichever left back out of the 5 will come.

For the last 3 years we have been using the Chelsea, Man Utd, Real Madrid model and not been promoted; whereas now we have reverted back to any one from 5

This approach obviously takes longer as you have to negotiate with far more players, so we must just be patient, and see what happens.

No point moaning. We will probably be starting the first match with people like Coutts still in the team.
Noone wants them and we cant shift them.
Until they are gone we cant get anyone else in.
 
Not being funny GCB but that really is a sad, toys out of the pram OP. Here are some reasons not to give a shit:-

1. Euro 2016 is on and England have had two decent performances. Couldn't give a shit about domestic football currently.

2. It's June!!!! Very little transfer business gets done at most clubs during this month. The fact that Wilder has already managed to sign two is astonishing and I'm thrilled. Nothing gets done until next month. Calm down.

3. Charlton aren't exactly the prize winning model of how to run football operations. If they're panic buying and paying over the odds for average players who just want a good salary then good for us. Don't worry about it.

4. The world is a scary place and we have an EU referendum coming up. I would suggest the transfer dealings of our favourite football team are somewhat down the list of things to get upset about.

That project that's due to start in mid August isn't completed yet?

Damn it! Heads must roll!

In all seriousness if we are still not having the majority of signings in by the time the preseason games start then there is some cause for concern as our preparation will be impacted.

But for now, let's trust in Wilder. 707 games would suggest this is by no means his first preseason. Let's allow him to get on with it. If signing players later means we get better ones then I'd rather wait.
 
I smell a loan strategy developing between August and January :(
 
Champers we all trust in Wilder it's McCann we don't trust !

Still a long way to go I know but Wilder has said he wants 3 centre backs and so far we have signed nobody in that spot...understandably one or two on here are getting a sense of deja vu !

It's funny I remember this time last year we needed a centre half or two and were worried about Murphy leaving.

And Jim Phipps repeatedly told us 'they will come' and 'Murphy going nowhere'
