I enjoyed today's game because we won, yes I moaned, I sit with a good group of people and we all have a moan and a laugh together but we don't boo or scream obscenity's at the players , the Ref perhaps but that's a different matter.
I'm a Unitedite, not overly bothered about the England team, though I like them to do well, no interest at all in the Premier League because we're not in it, and even less in the European Cup, I just go to the Lane hoping to see the Blades win and I've done it for sixty years so I must like it.
I've watched them through the good years and the lean years and yes there has been more tears than laughter but then the bad times have always made the good times seem even more precious..
But the game seems to have changed now, everybody's a critic and it's gone beyond having a few pints and a good laugh with your mates to a game of Chess, it's not about your team just winning a game it has to be won with style to please everyone.
I've already said I enjoyed the game although it was on a tight rope at times I came away smiling so imagine my surprise when I got home to hear the wife (not a big football fan) say she had listened to the match on radio Sheffield and guy on there had really spoiled it buy taking over the show moaning about how bad it was. she said all he could talk about was how it was in his day...
Sorry Kieth but for me when you start being that detrimental to my team on radio, it's time to move on....
