I'll settle for the outcome but I honestly thought he didn't make a great connection, he sort of hit it into the ground.

Apart from Sharp I think all the others try to take a touch first and then probably get crowded out as they’re down on confidence atm.

Generally it’s better not to hit it clean as it makes it much harder for the keeper. So many scuff shots go in, many true strikes saved.

If the ball hits the turf even more chance of the direction being harder to predict. Think of fleck v Arsenal.

What were the Peterbrough defence doing, and the keeper? Looks like they used the same approach to defending as Man U at Old Trafford for Burke's goal - the Static Tactic. In the same way that Robinson seems to have taken tips from Phil Jones!

He definitely miss hit it taking nothing away from him though it was a clever run to drift into the unoccupied space on the edge of the area and it was the right choice to try and put it in the right hand side of the goal with all the goalkeepers body weight going the other way

I've noticed a lot of players strike like this now. Think you're right it makes the shot less predictable for the goalie.

Also less likely to sky it, which is always a risk with a volley because of the high energy in the ball

It did seem to be travelling in slow motion. Kinda fade of a shot.

It wasn’t a cool finish it was a scuffer/mis hit. Deceived everyone though and hit the back of the net and that’s all that matters.

It was a weird finish, and all the keeper needed to do was take a step to the left and he'd have caught it with ease. I suspect he may have been unsighted or something?

In any case the real joy of the goal was the build up. Terrific ball from RND, a faultless takedown from MGW, his jink inside to beat the defender and then his pass which perfectly anticipated the final position of NDiaye's run.
