How many would now be asking for him and one bloke at the top in particular would be twitching.

We move on...you mean we continue to stagnate and never mind worrying about how the likes of mk dons, huddersfield, Burnley et al have overtaken us we have to contend with the likes of Burton, Walsall, Gillingham, Southend etc now looking in their rear view mirrors

We can't worry about all that now...we can't change the many mistakes made...the only way is onwards and upwards

The point being, you say "we". There is only one person continuing to make mistakes and the one bit of progress made since relegation from the Prem he dismissed as not good enough. Are you not worried that he will continue to change? What on earth do you see as onward and upward?

Of course we can worry when the same mistakes get made time and again and the mistake-maker is still at the helm. What are you on about?

Don't let us get carried away with Clough now . He is the past but did some good for us . Never mind what anybody says , the bloke did save us as we were on free fall to league 2 .

Burton have there DNA and identity in place with Rowell , JFH and now Clough just carrying it on .

Problem is with us , we don't know our arse from our elbow when it comes to managers carrying on with slowly slowly catch a monkey.

New manager , all change at the lane , therefore no stability or identity. . Even Clough is taking it steady and not creating any waves , with his promotion chasing squad.

It's a great post my friend,in a nutshell it brings home how far we have fallen, and we are still falling

We can worry about it but we can't do much to change it. So probably pointless worrying, just worry about stuff you can change. What will be, will be, unfortunately.

Or perhaps all the people being shouted down in the witch hunt that was last May are being consistent in their point we shouldnt have sacked him?

I didn't particularly want Clough sacked and didn't 'shout anyone down'...although I don't remember this many backing him this voraciously at the time...bit like with Adkins now..

Presumably we'd be in League 2 or worse if Clough had not arrived and be ground sharing with either the Pigs or Rotherham since BDTBL would be being redeveloped.

And had one foot in the cup final at HT?

For that moment alone thank you Nigel.

Just never ever thought a dream would nearly come true as a third division side.

Wasn't you I was talking about. I was trying to explain the possible reason behind the action .

OK...I think most people now realise that Clough would have done better with this team this season than Adkins...I guess the question would be that if we'd kept Clough, would we be kicking the problems further down the road re: bloated, ageing, half crocked squad?

..and there still would have been no guarantee that Clough would have achieved promotion...

All true. Also we can sometimes think things were better than they were. We played some awful stuff under Clough last season. I think the point I am trying to make is we have to stop firing managers because apparently it isn't helping us. All very good asking for the head of Clough, Adkins or whoever but we are now seen as such a basket case club, I think we are running out of good options.

A good manager wouldn't come anywhere near us now.
