I was sat very near the home fans yesterday, and the complete fuckwits that were sat around me beggars belief. Pissed, lairy, taunting the home fans, leaping all over the place to wind the stewards up then moaning at the stewards to get out of their way when they sat down. One drunk nobber next to my brother was very lucky not to get arrested. As my brother said "if he doesn't shut up I'll nick the bastard myself."
It's all very well having banter with the opposition fans, but constantly hurling abuse at fans and players alike, especially Hurst, wins you no friends. How more didn't get chucked out is beyond me.

You might not have seen, but I'm assuming it was a Blades fan involved... someone sneaked through into the Scunthorpe end next to where you were sat and punches were thrown before it all disappeared off down the back of the stand.

ive heard it was all scunny provoking united from both scunny and united fans,it all started when a scunny fan threw a bottle half way through the second half,united retaliated throwing coins and bottles in then calmed down then the same scunthorpe fan said something to the united fan who went through the OPEN gate.Why the gate was open i will never know butthere you go

From what i'd seen it started long before the second half.

Gates are ALWAYS open pretty early, it's the idiot United fan who was in the wrong, not the geezer who opened the gate.
