I just don't understand

IF the debts are written off and there is money to spend, then they'll walk league 1, regardless who is in charge.

The major issue is our situation. If there's going to be as small a budget as last year then we're liable to go down or at best struggle. If your options are that or a club who will likely go up and then have the money to form a promotion charge, then there's an obvious choice.

Sunderland are a huge prospect. As big, if not bigger than us. Chris has stated that our training facilities are lacking. Sunderland will have a much better infrastructure than us.

They will not walk league one regardless, because today they are absolutely fucking rubbish.

And regarding the training ground, he said something like “the offices could do with upgrading”, or something equally inconsequential.

You are being overly negative.

No he didn't.

What happened 35 years ago has nothing to do with anyone currently at the club. It's a "woe is me" tale that Blades can't let go of. I don't know whether we will sign equal or even better players, if they go, but they arrived at our club somehow, who did they replace? Presumably worse players.

How many years has our current co-owner been at the club? Not a criticism of him or The Prince. If you look at how much they are worth and how much they've invested then it's significant.

I can’t recall exactly what he said, but it was in the context of the facilities being really good. To view it any other way exposes your agenda.

He made a number of points about it not being just about the money. I'm pretty sure of his 6 major issues the facilities were number 1 or 2.

Have you actually listened to the interview or are you just making it up to suit your agenda?

He said, amongst a number of other praises about the setup and ground....”facilities....fantastic facilities. Could do with a little upgrade at the top building of the training ground, and everyone knows that”.

His view of the setup was clear, and nothing like the negative spin you’re trying to put on it.

Their investment is significant? I'm sure that's not what you're trying to say.

Should have added, that was cut from the interview and makes a mockery of your drivel here.

Just said similar in another thread. At Sunderland it is likely he can start building in the knowledge that the club will keep pushing to go that step further.

Maybe he has done as much as he feels is possible at the Lane.

Any decision he makes will be a big call on whether to follow his heart or his head.

I get your logic but your implying that if Wilder stays his heart has ruled his head and therefore Sunderland is a better career move than us? There's no guarantee Sunderland will go straight back up if he goes there. They still have several big earners who don't want to be there still contracted next season. We on the other hand have a decent Championship team that even without further recruitment this summer should at least stay up next season. Not many teams will have a better centre mid partnership as we do if all fit or Brooks. If we sell Brooks then Wilder or whoever is the next manager will get some of that to reinvest. Meanwhile Sunderland have Jack Rodwell!

Our form since November would put us, what 18th? Our strike-force is aged and will be worse than this season. Duffy is even less likely to make 90 minutes and he's our key player. I think it's likely we'll lose at least 2 key players in the summer, if there's no significant investment.

We'll basically be in Barnsley's position.

They lost their best 4 players over two windows. I doubt we'll lose Fleck, O'Connell, Leon and Brooks this summer. I take your point that our form post January isn't great but I can't see us going like Barnsley have. Also I fully expect us to bring in a forward or two this summer with or without Wilder, but it may well be not the first choice Wilder wants - if he still is here, which I obviously hope he will be.

Hate to say it, as I've loved CW up to now, but if he did move to the Mackams I'd really want him to fail

Not just heart over head decision with the Sunderland job, any job where riches are offered with a clear ambition to get Premier League football. We don’t know what Sunderland want ambition wise or have financially yet, so there could be other factors that put him off that particular job for both personal and professional reasons.
